Pours black with a beige head.Aroma of chocolate, nuts, mocca, coffee, alcohol, yeast, burnt and roasted notes. Flavor is sweet and roasted with lots of coffee, chocolate, warming alcohol, caramel and yeast. Full body, average carbonatio. So nice.
From the bottle. Poured black with a large brown head. Typical stout aroma, chocolate, roasted malts, vanilla but also with some smokiness. I found the alcohol to be really well masked. Tasted sweet, finished coffee bitter. Doodler (318) - Denver, Colorado, USA - SEP 12, 2011
18 cl nip bottle I picked up in Belgium. Super black with a nice creamy, tan head. Nose is woody with cocoa-beans, coffee, peated whiskey and vanilla. Taste is big and powerful with roasted flavors, chocolate and a malty sweetness. Lingering coffee notes and a balanced finish. Oily mouthfeel. Beautiful stuff. kappldav123 (6131) - GERMANY - SEP 10, 2011
Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass deeo black, small head. Heavy malty aroma, a bit soapy. Starts milder than exspected, gets stronger and stronger, more and more malty-dry. Also with interesting woody notes. Finish a bit alcoholic-malty, still very dry. All in all it could be a bit more complex, but still a good beer.

Outstanding imperial stout with a burnt coffee flavour that does not lean into obnoxiousness. Very very good. Rasmus40 (21698) - Beder, Aarhus, DENMARK - SEP 4, 2011
Black with a creamy dark brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, vanilla and lots of alcohol. Flavor is very sweet and rather bitter. Dry and roasted rather bitter finish with warming alcohol. Smooth and oily. I normally prefer Impys a little lower in ABV, but this is brilliant. 040911 scotchzi (302) - Florida, USA - JUL 24, 2011
This poors light and fizzy, but really dark. Smells like an ashtrAY with a DID poored in it. It taste way more mellow. Light smoky taste light bubble body very easy to drink. Chocolate alcohol with roasted oak. Thanks DROWLAND! drowland (8955) - Georgia, USA - JUL 24, 2011
7/24/11. Small bottle courtesy joes! Opaque dark pour with a nice fluffy brown head that lasts. Giant boozy aroma up front with big complex stout characteristics including roast and chocolate as well as oak and liquor. Rich, bold flavor with huge chocolate, cream, lingering coffee, and more. It reminds me of chocolate ice cream in a way. Oak pops its head in for a visit as well, as well as nice sweet liquor and a touch of sour. This is quite nice. weaselkenievil (1609) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - JUL 12, 2011
Yes. That’s my first impression. Bottle courtesy of MesandSim. More heroic beer work guys. Black with a medium tan head and lacing. Huge aroma of meaty smokiness and lots of coffee. More coffee in the flavour and a strong and long finish. Lip smackingly good. It’s great.
