Bottled. A pitch black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, alcohol, chocolate, and lemony fruits. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of roated malt and alcohol, as well as medium notes of wood, and chocolate, leading to a very dry, roasted, bitter, and alcoholic finish. Draught at Monk’s Porterhouse, Stockholm. Exceptionally black, rich firm head. Generous coffee aroma. Mid dry, dense and grainy with raw licorice, tobacco and lots of coffee. Remarkably roasty, but feels leser than it’s 14%. Salty, somewhat resiny bitterness. A bit edgy.

Bottle 18 cl. Courtesy of Pinball. Pours a pitch black with a brownish head. Hard roast nose with a vinous barrel-like touch. Massive body, very hard roast - almost coffeeish - vanilla, metal and dark fruits. Again a little vinous. Hard roast all through the finish. Opaque black beer. No real head. Very light and crisp palate. Very well integrated range of flavours. Marmite, dark chocolate and coffee. Mineralls. A little subtle cherry and other dark fruits. Finishes dry and slightly creamy. Yeasty aftertaste. Drinks like 7%!
