18vl bottle @ buitenlust. Pitch black, opague colour with a light brown head. Smells coffee, roasty, ash, chocolate, alcohol. Tastes dark chocolate, bitter, coffee.. Great stuff! Full body, great carbo, thick, oily, warming.

Another lil medicine bottle of Dutch barrel-aged stout. Pours black with a handsome ring around the collar, perhaps a touch more carbonation than some of these have. Nose is a bit sweeter, vanilla like, with a touch of anise, not so peat and ash forward. Really high carbonation on this. Dark chocolate and anise in the mouth followed by a strong wine-like red currant and berry flavor. Lots of chocolate cherries in the finish, slightly tart. Im not a huge fan of wine barrel aged stouts, especially ones that focus on very sweet berry flavors such as this. Not bad, decent, drinkable at least, tons better than Black Hole (Red Wine) at least.

Head: thick, foamy, capuccino,
Colour: very dark brown, almost black
Smell: lots of chocolat, raisins dried figs, dried plums, vanilla , oak, light roasted coffee, sweet roasted malts, boozey in a very good way , deffinitly something of the bourbon , superb !! lets hope taste is as good !!
Taste: start is very boozey with a coffee and black/milk chocolat base , lots of roasted mlats, some vanilla of the oak, i can spot something sour and wineous( red fruits ) from the bordeaux, again very roasty coffee with roasted malts and sticky sweet end , mouthfeel becomes really dry afterwards , slight alcohol burn in the troath and in the aftertatse you can spot some grassy hops !

Menno .... I FREAKIN LOVE THIS ONE !!

(Bottle) Pours near black with a small head. The aroma is medium roasted with subtle barrel profile. Tones of coffee, light vanilla, light floral honey and tiny hints of grapes. Also room for some fresh dark berries. The flavour is light sweet, medium bitter and tiny acidic. Coffee, dark chocolate, subtle barrel character as well as some hoppy notes. The mouthfeel is soft and almost oily. Citric and light numbing finish. Medium bodied.

Bottle 1537 of 2040. Midnight pour, not a hint of light penetrating the body. 1/4 inch latte head that leaves a spot or two and diminishes into a cloud that defiantly floats above the squid ink. Tons of dark fruit, touch of soy, and lots of booziness. Oak, vanilla, bit of red wine, chocolate, and molasses. Chewy.

Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass deep black, small head. Starts intense malty, strong, roasty, not too dry. Modest bitter background. Finish warming-malty, soft, modest sweet. Very well balanced. Great imperial stout.

Very dark reddish brown. Like black with a nice beige head above. Nice sweet roasted coffee and chocolate, wood, raisins. A bit liquorish, but on a nice moderated way. Very nice.
