Pours pure black with small brown head. Super chocolatey with hints of wood vanilla and caramel in the aroma. Tastes just as it smells very smooth and chocolatey with a mellow wood vanilla/caramel tone.
DWF kull svart men lite skum som forsvant raskt. Aroma fantastisk malt whiskey vanilje. Smak søt mild litt alkohol. ineedbeer (2174) - Oakland, California, USA - MAR 5, 2017
Poured from a 180 ml bottle, with a bottle date of My 13, 2010; bottle number 1461.
Aroma is full of dark, roasted malts. Lots of roast and coffee notes with tobacco, leather and some light ash. Only light chocolate notes. Hints of dark fruit with some raisin and prune notes. Light bourbon with hints of red wine and some faint oak notes.
Pours black with some dark brown hues and a very small, somewhat forced, dark tan head that clings in one small clump on the edge of the glass before disappearing. Medium light lacing and moderate length legs.
Flavor is moderately sweet, and definitely sweeter than I was expecting as it lingers in the finish. Medium light chocolate notes with moderate roast character. Light tobacco, leather and a bit lighter ashy notes. Some light dark fruit notes with raisin and prune being most prevalent but also hints of cherry and red grapes. Medium light bourbon notes with light red wine notes and hints of oak. Moderate bitterness and some light alcohol spice.
Mouthfeel is medium full to full bodied and slightly creamy with low carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth.
Overall, a nice stout with a definite European character to it where the roast notes are more prevalent than the chocolate. Its sweeter than i was expecting and has a fuller creamier mouthfeel than I was expecting, both of which really nicely balance the roast notes. The nose is booze, red fruit and coffee. The palette is a bit oxidized, followed by vanilla and finishes with cocoa and vanilla BIK89 (26) - SWEDEN - APR 12, 2015
Köpt på Belgobaren i Stockholm. Bryggd 2009. Härlig doft av torkade frukter som sedan fortsätter i smaken. Knappt någon beska att prata om. Lite vinösa toner i smaken. Mycket gott! deanso (10150) - Chiang Mai, THAILAND - APR 2, 2015

Very thin tan head. Clear black pour. It’s aged very well. You can still taste the bourbon and bordeaux. sic1314 (4775) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - APR 2, 2015
