Bottle at home. Pitch black pour, thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, port, whisky and some slight ashy notes. Flavor is ashy, very roasted bitter, some bready yeast, slightly sweet caramel malts and some tobacco. Complex and slightly harsh. Creamy texture, very full body and low carbonation. Decent brew. 18 cl bottle from De Bierkoning. Pours pitch black with little head. Aroma’s of wood, vanilla, whisky, smoke, soysauce, sweet malt, roast and alcohol. Taste is sweet ’n’ bitterish, roasted, with a hints of wood, whisky. Burning mouth (& throat-) feel, a bit too much for my liking. Roast and ash with some bitterness in the finish. Good, but could have done with a little less acolhol imho. ante (3373) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - AUG 8, 2010
