Peppery and citrusy aroma. The taste is similar. Dry finish. Not too bitter and not too sweet. Great super saison!

Rating #1853 2015.08.10 Bottle from CBI. Pours a hazy straw colour with a frothy white head and lots of lace. Aroma is of farmhouse yeast, pepper, citrus, soft fruits Clean mouthfeel, medium carbonation, mild alcohol warmth. Taste is a crisp sweetness, tempered with herbal notes, mild pepperiness, mild sourness from the yeast. Great funky saison.

Buddel: Amber coloured, cloudy, big and very loose off-white head; sweet bready and caramelly nose; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium to full bodied; slightly lingering dryish fruity-yeasty and bitter and piney and caramelly finish. Yes, they can…

33cl Bottle shared at my place. Bit funny rye bread, sweet, sour, bitter melange. Backlog from 2014/10/18.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, amber colour with a huge off-white foamy head. Yeasty aroma with notes of ripe peaches, citrus, backed by slightly buttery, bready cara-malt. Moderately sweet, slightly bitter and slightly sour-tart flavour, medium to full bodied with a moderate carbonation. Fruit-accented, surprisingly moderate malty base with hints of caramel, tropic fruits and yeasty spice; a mildly but well-embedded hoppy bitterness joins in towards the finish. Likeable. 12.V.15

The kind of beer style, the producers, I thought that beer would be overwhelming without cheating. On the other hand, De Molen has many beers in their catalog and mass experiments that do not lead to anything. I have not understood this beer a saison? Perhaps, but with some shortcomings very clear.

Bottle, shared at Round Tower Brewery, 2nd July 2015. White lacing and a dark bronze appearance. Aroma is clove and coriander and clove. Taste burnt caramel, coriander and clove. Some pine and spruce. Fortunately it hadn’t aged too well.

33cl bottle at home from de Molen, Bodegraven. Body is opalescent ruby amber to hazy orange copper, head is small, white, creamy, mostly diminishing, good lacing. Nose is tropical fruits, flavor is strawberry, spices, honey, lemon peel. Medium to heavy sweet, light bitter, medium fruity sour. Finish is medium lasting fruity medium bittersweet, light sour, light alcohol warmth, light peppery aftertaste. Full body, oily sticky texture, soft carbonation. Sweetish dessert, great taste, interesting.

33cl bottle at home. Clear burgundy with a medium slightly off-white head. Medium to full body with low to moderate carbonation. Very sweet with subtle bitter and sour tones. Ripe fruits (peach, apricot), malts, caramel, cinnamon, alcohol and herbs. A sweet tasty brew.

Zlotta (3811) - Hagen / Düsseldorf, GERMANY - MAY 5, 2015
0,33 l bottle from EDEKA Mohr, bottled on 19/9/2013. Clear, medium amber with a massive (a little gusher), foamy, stable, tan to white head. Intense aroma of peach and apricot, tangerine, banana, lemon and a bit of pepper and alcohol. Lovely, sweetish taste of apricot and peach, mango, tangerine and banana, followed by a long, yeasty, slightly spicy (pepper and cinnamon), gently alcoholic and rather bitter and dry finish. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very aromatic and tasty, delicious. Maybe a bit too much on the sweet side and a little too dry in the end, but still well-balanced.
