There’s plenty of fruit like orange, tangerine and sweet apples. It’s powerful and full bodied but still easy going. Although the name would suggest otherwise, it’s our favourite amongst the female clientele yet also highly appreciated by the other sex. Well hopped as always, but the obvious alcohol and the massive malt and fruit character restrict the hops to the background, only to reveal itself in the finish. Full bodied, notes of champagne. Champagne mousse after pouring in the glass. Grapes and a hint of mandarin curacao in the aroma, together with a hint of vin mousseux. Malty sweet flavor, immensely full bodied, with mandarine curacao and vinous notes. Thick mouthfeel, just a touch of yeast in the aftertaste. Huge beer. ABV on the label reduced from 15 to 11.9%. Recipe remains the same

On tap at Salón piva 2018. Wow. Strong aroma of ripe fruits, some honey, barley of course. Cloudy amber reddish colour. Strong intensive taste, ripe fruits, honey, barley wine, quite sweet, strong, very nice. Congrats

33 cL Bottle at home. Pours hazy amber with a small off-white head. Aroma has a huge sugary sweetness with some toffee and booze. Taste has booze, lots of sweetness, some dark fruits, sugar and a soft bitter finish. Medium body and carbo. Too sweet for me.

Gewoon kwaliteit hoor!

UPDATED: APR 7, 2018 Rich amber colour, with a moderate head. Dense and rich beer. Malty aroma with a hint of smoke. Butterscotch sweetness but with some balancing bitterness in the finish. Satisfying.

O ile w wersji z brettami bardzo mi to pasowało, o tyle w wersji podstawowej mi to przeszkadza i wolałbym bardziej klasyczny smak. Goryczka jest przyjemna i wyraźnie zaznaczona. Udane barley wine, ale...

330mL bottle from Bucket Boys 11.9% BO 12-06-17 BB 12-06-4(!!!!!) S of hazy pale bronze beer, dense off-white head hangs around. Not a hugely intense aroma - biscuits, toast, nuts, touch of vanilla & sultana. Lovely big body to it, very smooth, lowish carbonation, sticky yet never cloying. It's like really grainy - guess thats why they call it a barley wine :D - but it seriously have a pleasent well defined grain aspect alongside of the rich caramels & dried fruits & glace peel (hop?) notes. Wouldn't describe it as overly complex, just well made, bitterness & booze creep in and add their own form of balance. Very good proper standard Barleywine....sort of leans toward the US side but not quite.

UPDATED: MAR 29, 2018 33cl bottle at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours hazy amber with very fine white foam. Aroma is a beautiful mix of caramel, walnuts, spices. Body is very dense with limited carbonation, and some astringency. Taste is moderately sweet with moderate bitterness and some sourness. Finish is long...

Topper!
