COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
There’s plenty of fruit like orange, tangerine and sweet apples. It’s powerful and full bodied but still easy going. Although the name would suggest otherwise, it’s our favourite amongst the female clientele yet also highly appreciated by the other sex. Well hopped as always, but the obvious alcohol and the massive malt and fruit character restrict the hops to the background, only to reveal itself in the finish. Full bodied, notes of champagne. Champagne mousse after pouring in the glass. Grapes and a hint of mandarin curacao in the aroma, together with a hint of vin mousseux. Malty sweet flavor, immensely full bodied, with mandarine curacao and vinous notes. Thick mouthfeel, just a touch of yeast in the aftertaste. Huge beer. ABV on the label reduced from 15 to 11.9%. Recipe remains the same

2011 vintage. A: Vinous, Brandy-like, Sake, sweet malts. A: Darkest amber/ ambrish brown, though a bit murky. sedimentation in a beer of this OG must be very low. No head. T: Incredibly tasty. Sweet malts, honey, red wine, toffee. Very well rounded. Very gentle alcohol. Slight hop bitterness. P: very thick, oily body. Carbonation goes against zero. O: very nice brew, will try the other versions.

Wow, extreme beer!! Amber/red color with no head, aroma is very sweet, malt, caramel, alchol, like a liquor, in mouth is incredible oily, no carbonation, sweet with characters of aroma and dates notes... Very impegnative beer, only for after dinner!

Bruine kleur, amper schuim. Ruikt naar rogge, een beetje zoet, apart en lekker. Smaakt fantastisch, beetje zoet, beetje zuur en bitter. Superbier, tikkie lomp.

Drank with Rik at Cafe Moenen 13-2-2014. The beer literally looks like tea. Almost no foam. Sweet taste. Hints of caramel, sugar, huney and dominant ’roggebrood’. Alcohol very present. Nice beer, though a bit unbalanced.

BOTTLE 33CL from dEnk, thanks Colin! Bottled APR 2013. Look: ruby red and hazy with no almost head. Aroma: extra sweet, sugary/syrupy sweetness with some dried fruit behind it, vanilla, caramel, corn?, fruity alcohol. Taste: rich malt, sweetness balanced by phenolic and hop bitterness, alcohol very well hidden behind the sweetness, spicy peppery feel. huge body. Very sweet, not much complexity when young.

This is one sugary booze bomb. Aromas of corn and corn syrup. Flavors are sweet and corn syrup like. So sweet. I’m going to brush my teeth now.

Since they say this is cellarable for 25 years perhaps it wouldn’t be as sweet in 2039, but as it it’s pretty damn sweet. Nice though and abv incredibly masked considering how strong it is. Nice beer but you better like sweetness. Yo!
