COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
There’s plenty of fruit like orange, tangerine and sweet apples. It’s powerful and full bodied but still easy going. Although the name would suggest otherwise, it’s our favourite amongst the female clientele yet also highly appreciated by the other sex. Well hopped as always, but the obvious alcohol and the massive malt and fruit character restrict the hops to the background, only to reveal itself in the finish. Full bodied, notes of champagne. Champagne mousse after pouring in the glass. Grapes and a hint of mandarin curacao in the aroma, together with a hint of vin mousseux. Malty sweet flavor, immensely full bodied, with mandarine curacao and vinous notes. Thick mouthfeel, just a touch of yeast in the aftertaste. Huge beer. ABV on the label reduced from 15 to 11.9%. Recipe remains the same

Bottle. Amber orange pour, a little flat looking. Was not marked as BA, but was definitely 15.2%. Caramel, light smoke, very malty with some alcohol showing, but it's been so long since I had a beer like this it was a treat.

Compleet en complex. Warm en hoppig, helaas niet de beste afdronk van de barley wines die ik heb gedronken.

Bottle. Raisin bread, pumpernikel, overripe dates, fresh plums, light almond, amaretto cookies. Strong malty flavour, thick, liqueurish, meaty body, canned pineapple additionally in the flavour. Very sweet, not boozy at all. Has flavour depth and complexity - no complaints whatsoever.

Pours a lightly unclear crimson brown colour with a thin film of off white foam. Aroma has very barley heavy notes. Light pale sultanas, almost light sauternes sweetness but clearly more malty and bready. Taste is very much in correspondence with the caramel, malty nose. Very little bitterness in the finish. Malty and sweet aftertaste. Light to medium mouthfeel.

Barwa ciemnej czerwieni wymieszane z burgundem, rubinowo.

Praktycznie brak piany. Szybko znika po nalaniu piwa. W zapachu rodzynki, karmel. Piwo słodkie, delikatnie przegazowane. Delikatne pieczenie w przełyk od alkoholu. Kolor miedziany, piwo dość klarowne.

0,75l bottle at home shared with friends from trade with Erzengel, big thanks for this one. Vintage 2008. Bottled 07.10.2009. BB 10.2034. Bottle states 15% ABV. Bottle No 129. copper color, basically no head. smells strong of dried fruits, molasses, honey, earthy, peppery, some more fruits. very nice smell. full body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of dried fruits, spices, rather sweet, oxidation, strong honey, plums. finishes rather sweet with notes of plums, honey and some spices. very nice one, very much on the sweet side but still very good, good complexity. great stuff, happy to have tried this. 8, 4, 8, 4, 16
