Bottle, thanks to jeffo, 11/19/2012. Pours ruby brown caramel, thin white head fades relatively quickly into slick haze over the surface, thin curtained lacing. Aroma is piney hops, orange and honey with sweet dried fruits, nutty toffee malts, grassy bitterness. Taste is sweet, thick caramel maltiness, tangerines blending nicely with juicy hop finish. Thick body, yet very drinkable. Pretty nice stuff.

Bottled 04.09.2012. Pale, hazy, red colour. No head. Berries, black tea, hints of caramel and some citruses in the aroma. Tea, berries, caramel at first. Raisins, citruses and spices. Very nice sour finish. A hitter. Very well balanced, low carbonated, rather medium bodied, great barley wine with really interesting palate.

Bottled, sampled 2 years after bottling date, dont remember where i got it from. Orange/brown colored, almost no head. Strong hoppy nose, fuity. Flavor of tangerine, pumpkin, hops, lots of sweetness too. Lasting bitter finish. The regular version is very sweet, and probably requires a few decades of aging to become really good. The dry hopping however really improves the beer, by partially counteracting the immense sweetness. In addition, its nice to notice that the hops are still clearly present after 2 years, in contrast to what most of the hop-heads claim.

Bottle from De molen web shop. Hazy dark amber orange color with medium white head. Malty aroma with nice portion of citrus hops. Taste, sweet malt, syrup, honey, ripe fruit, citrus hops with grapefruit, tropical fruits, grapefruits zest. Alcohol is dangerously hidden. Medium long bitter sweet finish. Tasty.

Bottled september 4th 2012 . Pours dark amber, looks very thick ( bubbles struggle to go to the surface where they form a thick , creamy , rather small white head ) Smell bommen en granaten . Not too much cascade ( anymore ? ) thick body , low carbo .. AAAAAH good old De Molen ;) Taste has surprisingly much bitterness , still . not to much of the cascade aroma left . This all above the oh-so damn awesome bommen-taste . Finishes rather bitter . Again, as in all bommen en granaten, this one is rediculously drinkable . I am thankfull for once that its a rainy day . On a sunny day, the bottle would be empty in 10 minutes . Spot on !

Bouteille 33cl, bottled on 04/09/2012. Cuivre, col beige lger.

Theydon_Bois (18930) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - DEC 7, 2013
Bottle at home, from the De Molen shop, 07/12/13. Murky amber/orange/brown with little in the way of a head. Nose is sweet sugars, cake mix, dark fruits, treacle toffee, light boozey notes. Taste comprises sweet sugars, cake mix, stewed dark fruit syrup, hoppy notes evident, booze laced caramel sauce. Full bodied, fine carbonation, keeps this sipper a sipping, sweet finale with a coating of booze. Decent enough barley wine, but no world beater.

Bottled. Clear amber in color with a tan head. Pine, sweet marmelade, honey sweetness and orange peel fruityness in aroma. Nice. Creamy apricot, some nuttyness and orange sweetness in taste. Notes of toffee and sweet liqour in aftertaste.
