One of the best barley wines at the Borefts festival except for the Emelisse Buffalo trace wich was my #1 barley wine at Borefts ! Christos (5889) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - SEP 30, 2013
Super smooth barley wine, richt, syrupy, not as sweet as the Bommen & Granaten regular wich makes this much better, the Bretts don’t really acompany a sour flavour, but i think they do a very good job on making this a smoother less sweet beer instead of the otherwise too sweet and cloyingly Barley Wines De Molen have, very nice !
On tap at Borefts ’13.
Deep dark red/brown colour on the body with a thin beige head. Low retention. Aroma is fruity, with caramel, cherries, sweet and sour at the same time.
Very nice taste, sweet cherries, alcohol offering its warmt.
Medium thin body, low carbonation, sticky on the palate. Overall very nice. kraddel (8876) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - SEP 29, 2013

On tap at Borefts 2013. Reddish brown with a small pale head. Aroma is plum, raisins, dates, sweet bbq sauce, citrus. Oily mouthfeel, sweet on the palate with some balancing sourness. Taste is prunes, dates, toffee, baked apple, marmalade. Koelschtrinker (21489) - K?ln (Cologne), GERMANY - SEP 29, 2013
Scharfer malziger Antrunk mit einem würzigen Beiton. Scharf bleibend, wenig bitter. Schwierig. 12/7/6/9//9 erickok (6036) - Leuven, BELGIUM - SEP 29, 2013
Lighter coloured than expected. Strong aroma of dark fruit, fresher berries, sweet brown malts, grapes and a herbal note. The taste is a tat bit diluted though compared to the normal (and extra hopped) versions. You do get a touch of acidity which is interstingly different. Prefer the original(s) though. This one feels like it doesn’t need 15% alcohol. (On tap at Borefts 2013) 77ships (11026) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - SEP 29, 2013
#2666. Sampled draft @ Borefts 2013. Apparently made with brett. Brown reddish Bordeaux appearance with zero head. Smell is an odd and somewhat incoherent mixture of syrup, thick typical Bommen & Granaten caramel, brown sugar, super-sticky syrup mixed with brett, tart grenadine, light sour oak red wine,… Taste is a mix of Bommen & Granaten brown syrup, caramel, thick oaky, very sticky toffee & dried fruit mixed with grenadine, berries, brett, touch nail polish, old wood mixed with old Bordeaux wine, bit sour in the back, faint acetone. Totally flat & oily. Very weird, t his is a mix that doesn’t work for me, all the elements contradict each one and another, this makes no sense. Zer0 (1226) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - SEP 29, 2013
Draught @ BBF 2013. Aroma is light acidic, smooth, red fruits, raisin, bread and malty. Taste is light sour and pretty sweet. Full bodied with not much carbonation.
