Brown color with a good beige head. Aroma is sweet, toffee, yeasty. In the palate you found malt, chocolate, dried fruits. sayravai (4710) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JAN 3, 2007
(Bottled) Hazy dark ruby color with a small, beige head. Pretty mild, licoricey aroma with sweetish, smooth maltiness and some dried fruit. Burned-roasty, neutral maltiness with some ashes and sweetish-salty licorice in the flavor. Medium-bodied, very smooth and quite low-carbonated palate. Yes, there’s some Rochefort character, especially in the aroma - although it’s quite a bit milder than in the original. Overall a smooth, tasty and balanced, very nice dubbel. NoiZe (2323) - Zeist, NETHERLANDS - MAR 11, 2007

Bottle from The Ramsgate Brewery, Broadstairs: Pours a hazy chestnut brown. Large head due to relatively high carbonation. Lots of malt, fruit and toffee flavours with a little roasted malt. Very nice indeed. skortila (5875) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - MAR 10, 2007
Aroma is of roasted chocolate, toffee malts and some fruitiness. Hazy, brown coloured with a lasting, thin, beige head. Taste is creamy sweet, toffee and coffee malty, some fruits, some prunes. Medium body. Nice beer, good balance. caesar (7162) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - MAR 9, 2007
Hazy brown color, medium head. Aroma of some roasted malt, chocolat, sweetness. Probably the recipe or the brewing has evolved in time, because it was very nice balanced, no strange ingredients were overwhelming taste and aroma. I’m becoming a fan of this brewery! altonbrownd (5897) - Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA - MAR 9, 2008
Bottle from Bier Koning. Brown and hazy body with strong head. Malty and fruity nose. Taste of caramel, roasted malt, toffee, hops. Sweet. With a nice chocolate flavour in the end. TBone (17581) - Pori, FINLAND - JUL 27, 2007
Bottled (BB 10/2007)
Dark ruby brown color, small brown head. Very fruity nose, loads of prunes, dates and brown sugar. Crisp carbonation. Prunes, toffee, some hops and even some licorice in the flavor. Some alcohol picks up in the finish. Nice sweetish dubbel. 10% version of this would be interesting - Rochefort influence is evident.
