Brewed with brown malts, an English traditional specialty malt, we created an Imperial Russian Stout that has won prizes at festivals across Europe from Sweden to Italy. Its big, black, roasted and complex. We are convinced that not trying this ale will be a mortal sin to your taste buds and beer experience. Oak chips have been put in 40 year old cognac and then added to the beer.

Tap at KBH festival, 2009. Black with a small creamy brown head and lacings. Lovely coffee profile going on here. Also chocolate, oak and a bit of alcohol. Again hard roasted coffee notes. Warmth, sticky and full bodied. Nice.

Purchased a bottle from the Ale House, Amesbury bottle cellar (I dont want to remember the price of this) ha ha. Date of bottle is 1/28/13. Pitch black color, no head. Aroma is chocolate hints, roast and booze. Booze at this age and only 10 %? Uh?

Flavor has a mild brownie batter base, dark fruits, molasses, and.... a slight amount of booze which teally shouldnt be here at its age. But with 40 year old cognac... ok, Well, I will not be able to track another bottle down, so no matter. If you get it at a reasonable price, pull the trigger.

From a 33cl bottle bought from the brewery, pours black with copperish head. Amazing smell of chocolate and so is the taste. Starts sweet but follows with some bitterness. Taste has prunes and dark chocolate and is very full bodied. Considering its strength, one of these is more than enough. As good for a dessert as a regular beer, if only all stouts tasted like this! Definitely not a session beer but a beer that should be drunk at every session!

Bottle at home after dinner. Pours coffee black with very little foam. An ever so slight ring of head around the glass. On the nose heavy notes of dark chocolate, roasted malts and wood. Something in there reminded me of the smell of dry dog food. Overall pleasant. Taste was big and bold dark chocolate, slight bitter spice and oak wood. Heavy, thick, and calmingly smooth. Better than most after dinner desserts. One of the best imperial stouts Ive ever had.

Aroma has vanilla, coffee and dark chocolate. Prunes. Pours black with a small headthat leaves beautiful lacing. Taste has medium bitterness and medium sweetness. Coffee and dark chocolate. Some salty licorice. Full bodied with average carbonation. Long bitter finish.

Date on the back read: "Feb 29, 2012." This was poured into a snifter. The appearance was a black color with no head and no lacing. The smell, still had a nice sweet dark fruitiness up front over some light black licorice and then some sweet milk chocolate, nice good for the most part. The taste was mainly sweet with a nice dark fruitiness up front over the sweet milk chocolate underneath. Fairly sticky in the aftertaste and leading into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a medium in body. Sessionability rolls out a fine sticky feel on my tongue. Id say good. Overall, as an imperial stout, Id say its nice to have and would have again, it works for the style and for me.

tima breja, mas pelo preo, esperava mais. Fez pouca formao de espuma. saborosa com amargor assertivo. Teor alcolico no bem inserido e aumenta a medida que esquenta.
