Bottle 75 cl. Pours a cloudy dark brown - close to black - with an orange hue and a creamy beige head leaving some lacework. Distinct peaty iodine aroma. Medium-bodied only, very minerally - salt and iodine - burned malt, distinct peaty smoke. Ends in a somewhat tired mouthfeel, distinctly bitter finish from both malts and hops although the hops on the aromatic level are completely overpowered by the peat. But for a peat hater like me this at least is drinkable. 280212 sunevdj (4094) - Copenhagen OE, DENMARK - FEB 28, 2012

Bottled. Tar and old ropes, you almost hear the creaking of old timer. Strong smoky flavour over a fine malty beer base, nice bitterness, too. Rasmus40 (21338) - Beder, Aarhus, DENMARK - FEB 9, 2012
Clear dark reddish brown with a lasting light brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate, moderate hoppy - grapefruit - and rather smoked - peat. Flavor is quite sweet and very bitter. Dry and very bitter finish. 090212

Bottle. Very dark amber with big beige head. Aroma is malt, little roasted malts, peat, little citrus and hops. Flavour is malt, peat, medium sweet, little roasted malts, chocolate, hops, little acid, little ash and bitter. saxo (18940) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - FEB 9, 2012
Bottle. Huge head with excellent duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are ashtray smoke, bacon, hops and roast malt. Smoke is quite dominant. Not very balanced. diabel (1715) - Aarschot, BELGIUM - FEB 5, 2012
Murky brown body with a lightly brown head. Smoked (!) aroma with some hops coming through but malts are stronger. Maybe too much smoked, both in aroma and flavour. Very well bodied. All in the end great. Martinus (4610) - Baarle-Nassau, NETHERLANDS - JAN 26, 2012
Dark brown-black colour, tan head. Smoky aroma, malts, light hops on a background of burned malts. Sweet smoky flavour, smoky whisky, quite bitter hops and bitter roasted malt tones. Finish smoky and bitter.
The first black IPA I’ve tasted that really makes sence to me.

(From 75cL bottle @ RBBWG 2012, Antwerpen. Thanks for sharing, sebletitje!)
bottle @ RBBWG 2012 thanks to Sebletitje. Dark brown to black coloured beer with a medium brown head. Really nice smokey roasted and malty hinted aroma. FUll light creamy palate. Finish is again strong smokey and roasted malty with a light alcoholic finish. Very good!
