On tap at Boreft Beer Festival, De Molen, Bodegraven, Netherlands, 24.09.11 Pours very hazy dark brown, smokey in a woody rather than sausage type of way. Marvellous beer with sweet liquorice and a goodly lacing of hops, loved this. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8 Abio (1868) - BERMUDA - SEP 25, 2011
No head, very soft carbonation. Hoppy, but also a bit roasted/smoked. The smoke is more present at the smell as taste. Not bad at all, but not totally what I was expecting from the style. Decent, but nothing to get really excited from. jerohen (2352) - Bussum, NETHERLANDS - SEP 25, 2011
On draft at Borefts beer festival 2011. Black appearance (of course). Very strong nose of malts, peat, tar, hops, overwhelming. Very smoky flavor, peat again, medicinal notes, very bitter, this is like eating dirt. There’s just too much going on here, loads of different flavors and and all of them are screaming for attention. Balance is nowhere to be found. A beer for lovers of extreme flavors. Totally not my thing. Vaiz (4460) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - SEP 25, 2011
Cask @ BBF 2011. Brown to black pour, thin tan head. Aroma of tobacco, smoked eel. Flavor is slightly bitter, smokey, some faint floral and pine hops. A bit flat. Still quite nice. suprchunk (2994) - EffOff, Florida, USA - SEP 25, 2011
Black colored pour with no head and no lacing. Malty aroma with a hint of smoke. Taste is smoke with a hint of malt. Sweet and bitter. More of a sweetness though, with a huge smokey backend. Decent.

From tap. Pours hazy brown with a small tan head. Aroma is smoked and dark malty. Mild fruity hoppy. Plastic and bone dry bitter. Ends dry and smoked, bitter too - light citric. Messy.
