bottle shared by julienhuxley, thanks bro! pours cloudy/murky dark golden, red tint, with a small light beige cap showing minimal retention and lacing. prunes and cherries, light to medium acidity, bretty - no funk per say, very spicy, oak - seems more american than french - bourbon-esque, hint of sweetness - cherry meat. lively to average carbonation, light to medium body - seems a tad heavy for stated abv, relatively dry bretty and grassy-spicy finish. decent balance. more of an american-sour than a netherland-french one. tasty but sort of miscellaneous. Pours hazy salmon with low off-white head. Aroma is of fruits, berries. Taste is of fruits, sourness, acidity. Palate: Light-medium body. Light-medium carbonation. Overall: Soft, subdued, but still good. mathieuc (3988) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 4, 2014
Pours a hazy red with a small white head that leaves some lacing. Nose is of vinegar and fruits. Taste is lightly sweet, fruity and offers the same acetic acid you sensed earlier along with some trace acetone. Body is medium and carbonation moderately high, prickly. Overall a good sour but nothing mindblowing. tom10101 (6082) - Quebec, CANADA - OCT 3, 2014
Bottle (330 ml). Shared by JulienHuxley, thanks! Almost clear pinkish-amber with a small white head and little lacing. Aroma is of oak, vanilla, fruits, light wine, cheese and mint. Taste is also oak forward with winey notes,a touch of mint, vanilla, moderate sourness and cheesy presence. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Light spiciness from the oak in the finish. Decent fruited sour. Not the most complex, but it’s still tasty and relatively enjoyable. JulienHuxley (5806) - Sherbrooke, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 2, 2014

Artisanal fruit beer with real sour cherries and matured on Bordeaux barrels. Short-lived, light beige head, colour dark red. Aroma of sour cherries, cranberry, lemon zest, caramel, hay, wood, red wine. Sour attack at first, overwhelmingly fruity, hay and sherry, becoming softer and more sweet throughout the palate, but finishing in a ’new’ acidity, woody, not too sharp. Wonderful beer and I am not a great amateur of fruit beers - but I think the use of the term ’lambiek’ in the name is a bit exaggerated. phredrik (1024) - Copenhagen (formerly Aalborg), DENMARK - NOV 18, 2012
Tap @ Mikkeller. Hazy maroon red pour with a small pinkish head. Aroma is heavy on brettanomcyes, lots of plum and reddish fruit meat. The brett is very dusty, lots of leather notes, and there is a rather noticable note of bourdeaux barrel. Dry oak, spicy bourdeaux, very funky. The funkiness is complimented by the fresh fruitiness. Lovely. Taste is pretty much like eating a perfectly ripe plum. Some acidity and bretty funkiness in lines of plum zest, and lots of sweet fruit meat in the taste. The brett is heavy, still. The bourdeaux provides a spot on spiciness that blends in fantastically with the other elements of this beer. Drinkability is through the roof. Fuck, this is good. Bottle @ Monks CafÈ Wallingatan. Pours hazy brownish ruby with a very small pinkish beige head that quickly dissipates without leaving any trace on the glass. Smell is slightly fruity sweet and sour with cherries, burnt sugar, lemon juice, red wine vinegar, dark grapes, lemon zest, hay, barnyard, dry soil and hints of sherry. Taste is very tiny fruity sweet, sour and fruity with sour cherries, lemon juice, hay, lemon zest, horse blanket and hints of bread, wood and burnt sugar. Mouthfeel is slightly dry, slightly tart, slightly smooth and medium bodied. Finish is dry and tart with sour cherries, lemon juice, hay and dry soil. Not very lambic like but still a quite good sour. larsniclas (7069) - Billdal, SWEDEN - SEP 28, 2012
