ElDesmadre (4441) - Mikołów, POLAND - FEB 13, 2018
Bottle. Awesome aroma - nuts, dried fruit, honey, overripe pineapple, thick malty layer, dates and raisins, raisin bread. Complex, amazing. And then comes the flavour. Syrupy, sticky sweet, disjointed alcoholic bitterness, with the alcohol cutting through the flavour and erasing any depth but also complexity. The flavour basically shatters the promises given by the aroma.

F: thin, yellowish, quick gone. C: murky, brown, hazy. A: malty, honey, floral, bit citrus, caramel, bit vanilla, vinous. T: malty, honey, warming alcohol and also retronasaly, bit vanilla, candy, herbal, caramel, full body, low carbonation, nice but I expected more complex here, 33cl bottle bottled 05/08/2015, BB: 05/08/2017 from Struise Bruges Beershop in Brugge.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2018 On tap at Tap and Handle in Fort Collins. Dark caramel brown pour. Aroma is nutty, caramel, a little earthy. Taste follows but more earthy than anything. Bit of a miss for me.

Bottle - turbid orange - nearly flat - heavily oxidized, with strong notes of nearly rotting fruits, stale hops, sherry - I feel like I should cut it some slack because it's a couple of years old, but stuff like this is designed to mature with time - flat, oxidized, cardboard beer - a damn shame, as I see the potentially great beer underneath.

stevoj (5960) - Boise, Idaho, USA - DEC 9, 2017
Bottle from Jeremy. Murky Amber, small skin of head. Aroma is fruity, apples, boozy. Taste gets a little Woody, leathery, tobacco. Starts nice, ends a bit harsh.

Mortlach (2536) - Rome, ITALY - DEC 9, 2017
330ml bottle. Ambrata carica, torbida, schiuma bianca leggera e poco persistente. Al naso sentori di alcol, caramello, vaniglia, botte, solvente, ossidazione. In bocca è dolce all'attacco con un finale amaro abbastanza deciso, legno, astringenza. Corpo pieno, carbonazione leggera. Birra complessa, da centellinare.
