Bottle courtesy of Craig (cheers Craig) , consumed at Fairport Annual Reunion, Saturday 12th August 2017. Pours dark brown with a slim light tan head. The barrel ageing leaves a slight boozy feel to this, it’s nice and has all of the usual Impy Stout traits, coffee, cocoa, smooth chocolate, roast edge good but De Molen can and do better. Zielone jabłuszko, poza tym czekolada migdały, lekka wanilia, bourbon lekko ordynarny. Generalnie za młody wypust. Lipa. gyhallmanti (546) - Groningen, NETHERLANDS - AUG 4, 2017
33cl bottle at home. Pours a jetblacl colour with a small tan head with decent retention. Aroma of apple, vanilla, oak, roasted malt, mocha, coffee. Taste is medium sweet, medium bitter with a decent dry finish. Notes of roasted malt, coffee, a lot of apple, oak, slight vanilla. Texture is oily, full bodied with low carbonation.
This beer had a extremely dominant apple aroma and taste which bothered me very much and made it not very enjoyable

Opaque black - brown beer, good dark tan head. Palate is airy, dry and has reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth rich dark malts, Little dry wood. Bourbon soaked dark fruits. Touch of that barrel induced emulsion paint that sometimes plagues BA beers, nothing serious here. Smooth dry finish. Tasty and drinkable.

Black with a tan head that fades to a good coat but never disappears. Plenty of whiskey in the aroma, some chocolate, bread and roast too. Fullish bodied, maybe just showing slight booze thinning. The whiskey is back in the mix at first with loads of chocolate, vanilla, bread, light spices. Quite bitter towards the end and the alcohol pops up again there too where it’s not hot as such but a little solventy where you’d prefer the vanilla and pepper to pinch. A lot going for it it but too much overt alcohol. gr_pa (721) - siemianowice, POLAND - JUL 23, 2017
Black, nice head. Aroma: coffee, malt, roasted notes, vanilla, wood. Full body, medium to high sweetness, medium to low bitterness. Taste: chocolate, roasted notes, nice balance, quite noticable barrell (vanilla, even some coconuts). Gentle alcohol.
