Smaak is vrijwel identiek. Veel melk chocolade, geroosterd, fluweel achtig mondgevoel.

Bottle. Bottled Nov 2014; BBE Nov 2019; Drank June 2016 - Dark Reddish Brown in colour. Average foamy tan head. Good lacing. Malty; roasty malts, milk chocolate, coffee, liquorice, caramel. Spicy; peppery. Hoppy; moderately hoppy, grassy hops. Fruity; dark fruit notes. Sweet roast milk chocolate and coffee malty throughout. Dry roast malty finish. Easy drinking. Not bad, but I expected more from a De Molen beer. Disappointing. (2016-06-10)

Nice porter. lightly spiced, really nice roastiness, pretty mild. In the background there are some notes of licorice and dark fruits. The taste is moderately sweet and bitter, slightly acidic. The finish is nice, smooth and malty. In overall decent brew with characteristic slightly nice and fruity features of all de molen dark/roasted brews.

Surged out of the bottle, brown, with a large tan head. Aroma is sweet milk chocolate with hints of coffee and a noticeable vinous note - in the direction of a pale sherry. This is a nice start. First impression upon sipping is an above average carbonation for a beer that describes itself as "porter-ish". This eventually settles down, but works in my opinion to disrupt rather than accentuate the flavors that follow. The taste is dry with lots of toast, some coffee, and a mild roasted bitterness going into the finish. Pleasant. The body is medium, and there is a faint warmth. (We are only at 5.2ABV). The taste and body may not live up with to the delectable aroma, but this is still very pleasant sipping.

Icedwarf (1721) - Etten-Leur, NETHERLANDS - DEC 18, 2016

Ben carbonata, corpo medio-leggero.

330ml bottle from Beer Square. Pours a murky dark brown color with a fizzy beige head that leaves a lacing. Aroma is malty, roasty with notes of dark chocolate, port wine, cocoa, moccha espresso and chocolate powder. A bit of cake here and there. Something bitter, Jägermeister-like. Not too intense. Taste is roasty bitter, chocolatey. Main flavors of pure cacao chocolate, licorice and slight acidity of Port wine. Good. Medium body, carbonation is a bit cola-like. Good, drinkable Porter. Nothing extraordinary.

Nordcore (1577) - Lyngen alps, NORWAY - DEC 5, 2016
Bottle 33 cl. Black with a minimal lightbrown head. Aroma of cooffee, chocolate and some dark fruits. Sweet taste with a chocolate and licorice sense.

051116. This bottle came from Beer Cartel and the beer was about what I was expecting it to be - a beer that is not overly complex or out there. With a dark brown cola colour and a slightly tan crown of foam the beers invites you in. The malty aroma emanating from the beer extends the invitation. The first sip leads you to a subtle bitterness with a trace of chocolate and burnt toast. The finish is a touch dry.
