051116. This bottle came from Beer Cartel and the beer was about what I was expecting it to be - a beer that is not overly complex or out there. With a dark brown cola colour and a slightly tan crown of foam the beers invites you in. The malty aroma emanating from the beer extends the invitation. The first sip leads you to a subtle bitterness with a trace of chocolate and burnt toast. The finish is a touch dry.

Bottle as a birthday gift from Jill. Cheers! Hazy brown with a thin cream head. Mild chocolate aroma. The taste is chocolate and toast. A little uninspiring, but nice enough.

Pours in deep dark coliur with very small off while head. Aroma of ruby port, dark chocolate. Medium sweet, higly bitter. Full bidy, oily feel, low carbonation, stron burned aftertaste

glennmastrange (2871) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - OCT 11, 2016
Bottle. Moderate to heavy toasted, grain and dark chocolate for the malt, heavy herbs for the hops, moderate musty for the yeast, with wood, dust and cardboard in the background. Head is large, frothy turning rocky, beige, with good but slippery lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is muddy dark brown. Flavor starts faintly sweet and moderately acidic, then finishes moderately acidic and heavily bitter. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, slick with a fizzy carbonation with a dry and chalky finish. This Porter has a lot of good aspects to hit, and a few not so good, but overall its uniqueness made it interesting.

Buena.

Plenty of heft for a porter (which now weighs in at 5.4%). Roast, milk chocolate, early at least but the beer dries out back palate. In keeping with the style I guess. Nice casual drinking.

Bottle from St Albans beer shop, St Albans, Herts. A deep dark brown coloured pour with a healthy beige head on top. Roasty, malty, caramel, coffee aroma. Tastes similar, roasty, malty, caramel, coffee, slightly bitter. Pretty tasty porter for its relatively low strength.
