4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
330 ml Bottle. Reddish brown with almost no head. Cocoa aromas explode as soon as you open it. Some sweet notes in mouth, followed by coffee bitterness, some cereal sensation, dryness and lightly spicy hopped finish. Nicely carbonated even with the first impression of no head. Wonderful porter. One of my new favorites on the style.
Draught at Captain Cook, Östersund. A really delicious porter. Love it when a porter comes off well, and if I wasn’t so full when drinking it, I probably would have loved it even more. A great smooth palate with some spicy chocolate (from the chocolate malts). I think it’s a great porter :) jackl (8071) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 13, 2017
Late June, 2015. Sample thanks to the London Crew at The Rake. Cheers, guys. Deep, soupy brown pour with a small head. Not the most attractive pour. Nose has some cocoa wafer, mild coffee. A bit or roasted grain. Flavor of earthy char, some lightly acidic coffee. Mild chocolate and some old leather. Medium body, soft carb. bb (9268) - Alamo, California, USA - JUN 8, 2017

Oct. ’16. A 0.33 l bottle that poured lightly hazy dark copper hued brown body with smaller brown head. Fine, strong roasted coffee, cocoa and licorice aroma. Flavor was very nice, roasted as well, with cocoa, licorice, some ash in between. Pleasantly rounded, full bodied, with long coffee and cocoa finish muscled up with ash and peat. De Molen spoilt me completely so I expected even more, something amazing and unconventional, but this is a fine porter indeed.

Pours almost black, big head, with nice carbonation. Aromas of alcohol, hints of nuts and caramel. Taste of caramel, alcohol, sweet malts, yeast. Too much carnobation when drinking. Quite nice caramel aftertaste. Bitterness is on point. johndoughty (5449) - cheslyn hay, West Midlands, ENGLAND - MAY 7, 2017
bottle. Black with a small head. Quite malty with a medium body. Not a lot of depth or complexity but still worth trying, as there beers always are. redders1974 (1472) - Greater Manchester, ENGLAND - APR 15, 2017
Couldn’t detect much in the way of aroma. Taste cola coffee blackberries sweet and silky in the mouth.
