Bottle. [thanks skortila & caesar]

Pours nutty brown to black with a big, fizzy, frothy, beige head. Lovely aroma of milky chocolate, clear red wine, mild roasted, mild vanilla, some oak and a floral spicy note. Medium to low carbonation, fine light and very dry mouthfeel. Flavour is elegant, peppery (chili), roasted, dry, dark chocolate, a bit milky feel, vinious, oaky dryness. Chewy liquorice and tobacco notes. Piney, malty dry and grainy in the finish. Very lovely and elegant!

Koelschtrinker (21834) - K?ln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 29, 2011
10/11/9/9//10

75CL bottle shared at tasting
pitch black with low carbonation and close to no foam.
actually tastes like red wine, also a lot of clove going on. there is a porter-taste in the background, but the red wine takes the upper hand. a bit sweet. Overall: a very strange beer, very nice.

75cl, new exclusive Dutch brew Anno 2010, from De Bierkoning Amsterdam, complex Porter, fruity and slightly sour, yet easy to drink, balanced, hazy, small head, good brew, yet expensive, Happy Birthday to De Bierkoning!

kappldav123 (6135) - GERMANY - MAR 27, 2011
Thanks to bierkoning for that one! Bottle looks good, beer in the glass also. Starts malty and strong, some coffee notes and also fruity notes of berries. Nice sourish background. Finish shows more and more hop notes, nice bitter side. Well balanced finish, very drinkable. Very nice beer!

altonbrownd (5897) - Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA - FEB 17, 2011
75cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Very dark brown body with huge tan head. Nose of chocolates, malts and coffee. Taste very solid and warming of coffee, chocolates, roasty malts and vanilla. The bordeaux also detectable. Really nice. Well done Meno!
