750 ml bottle 0187/459. Pours deep dark brown with a steady beige head. A very subtle nose for a 5.7%er: mahony wood, brown chocolate, warm roast, hint of fresh coffee. Nice light body but with a decent amount of roastiness, without being watery at all. Dry woody finish. Taste is all the goodness of a light and very drinkable porter... Little wine aftertaste. Beautiful little beast for this amount of alcohol. thewolf (12603) - Kolding, DENMARK - JUL 31, 2011

Pours nutty brown to black with a big, fizzy, frothy, beige head. Lovely aroma of milky chocolate, clear red wine, mild roasted, mild vanilla, some oak and a floral spicy note. Medium to low carbonation, fine light and very dry mouthfeel. Flavour is elegant, peppery (chili), roasted, dry, dark chocolate, a bit milky feel, vinious, oaky dryness. Chewy liquorice and tobacco notes. Piney, malty dry and grainy in the finish. Very lovely and elegant!
Thanks to bierkoning for that one! Bottle looks good, beer in the glass also. Starts malty and strong, some coffee notes and also fruity notes of berries. Nice sourish background. Finish shows more and more hop notes, nice bitter side. Well balanced finish, very drinkable. Very nice beer! DutchDrebus (6002) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - SEP 13, 2011
Bottle 100/459. Dark brown colour with some ruby redness, off-white head. Smells coffee, oak, pine, mint and chocolate. Tastes deep coffee, chocolate, wood - quite powerfull. Full body, great co2 and quite warming even though it’s only 5,7% abv.

A nice chocolate-brown color with slight bubbles but not much for head (accounting for the age). Light roast malt and red wine aroma. A light-bodied roasted porter with rounded with red wine and wood notes. Fantastically flavorful for a lighter beer and at 4 years old.
Notes: Bottle # 0034 picked up Amsterdam in 2010 at De Bierkoning’s 25th anniversary. Bottle opened June 2014.

75cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Dark brown to black colour, beige head. Aroma of Belgian chocolates or bon-bons, vanilla, bourbon, light vinous. Flavour is light sweet, chocolate, vanilla, wood, light vinous, hint of tartness, light coffee and chocolate bitter finish with a hint of bourbon. Medium bodied.
