Bottle with the Taps 1MK tasting crew, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a murky medium brown with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is sweaty socks malt, light vinous. The aroma is moderate to light sweet with a rich warm fruity sweet malt, floral, light alcohol, light burnt caramel light hop palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Musty chocolately smooth flavor. Little carbonation left but this beer travelled a lot. Some faint wine notes.

@Nuchtere Noorden Tasting I, schenkt donker bruin/rood met enorme kaki kraag.

750 ml bottle 0187/459. Pours deep dark brown with a steady beige head. A very subtle nose for a 5.7%er: mahony wood, brown chocolate, warm roast, hint of fresh coffee. Nice light body but with a decent amount of roastiness, without being watery at all. Dry woody finish. Taste is all the goodness of a light and very drinkable porter... Little wine aftertaste. Beautiful little beast for this amount of alcohol.

A nice chocolate-brown color with slight bubbles but not much for head (accounting for the age). Light roast malt and red wine aroma. A light-bodied roasted porter with rounded with red wine and wood notes. Fantastically flavorful for a lighter beer and at 4 years old. Notes: Bottle # 0034 picked up Amsterdam in 2010 at De Bierkoning’s 25th anniversary. Bottle opened June 2014.

BlaCK body light brown head. Aroma has ashy roasted malts, some flat ashy notes. Flavour has nice ash and some chocolate and some coffee.

750mL bottle, bottled 8/25/10, #88. Poured cola brown with a fairly dense, yellowy-beige head. The aroma picked up sweet cocoa, molasses, and singed black malts with oak, vanilla, and lightly-metallic vinous notes around.. some oxidation and a little too barrel-centric, but solid. The flavor found burnt black and chocolate malts at the core, with light cocoa bitterness, complex vinous, oak, and earthy notes from the barrel, and a hit of oxidation around.. finished a little sharp with vinous notes and oak leading. Medium-bodied, dry, and tangy on the palate.. moderate carbonation.. not the best feel.. interesting barrel treatment on this one.

Bottle 100/459. Dark brown colour with some ruby redness, off-white head. Smells coffee, oak, pine, mint and chocolate. Tastes deep coffee, chocolate, wood - quite powerfull. Full body, great co2 and quite warming even though it’s only 5,7% abv.

75cl Bottle at Cafe Buitenlust, Oirschot. Shared with DutchDrebus. Nice dark brown color with a deep dark red glare coming through. Small beige to light brown head. Smell sour, oak, wine, dark malts and lightly coffee. Taste oak, coffee, dark malts, bitter and chocolate. Superb complex taste and only 5,7%ABV! Remarkable. Full body, medium carbonation.

Bouteille 75cl #436/459.
