33 cl bottle @ home. Pours black with some sediment and a tan head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma and flavour is roasted malt, chocolate, liquorice, and a little whisky – with a slightly bitter finish. ABV is very well hidden.

330 ml bottle. Pitch black with small mocca head. Aroma of barrel, alcohol, port and some roasted notes. Taste is alcoholic, barrel, a bit astringent, spritzy with vinous finishing notes.

Bottled. I got this beer from MrHangover. Many thanks! One word: epic! This beer is liquid chocolate. The alcohol is present and warming. A delicacy!

On tap at CBC 2012. Beer in the glass deep black, small head. Chocolate-malty aroma. Starts earthy-malty, strong, soft chocolate notes. Finish warming-malty, a bit alcoholic, but well balanced. Great beer!

Bottle. Pours oil black with dark brown head. Nose and taste of vanilla, roast chocolate malt, whiskey, oak, smoked brownie. A touch bit too much of whiskey. Medium body.

Wonderful aroma and flavor. Then the long aftertaste of coffee does not do this beer worse. Cruel beer should be enjoyed. Follow me @ Kung av öl / King of Beer @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Bottle bought at Salling, Aarhus. Pitch black, with a large, bobbly, brown head that is gone quickly. Whisky smell, taste of liquorice and smoky aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: SEP 29, 2015 Color: strong dark black beer with no carbonation and medium brown foam. Smell: cognac, wine, malt complexity, brown sugar, sugar cane and small alcohol nose. Taste: strong malt taste with good bitterness and grapes taste. Aftertaste: a really small alcohol taste with nice malt and caramel taste.

Bottled, febr 2012. Black color, medium lasting brown head. Aroma of chocolat, coffee, bit grainy, hint of grapes, molasses. Apart from the barrel aging, it does have some similarities to a certain Double Oatmeal Stout. I noticed on the label there should be some barrel aging, although it was hard to find out what kind. Not bourbon or peated whisky, more mellow and now that I see ratebeer, it’s speyside whisky. Ok, fair enough. In taste it’s quite dry, some wood and quite boozy. A bit too boozy actually. I can recall I said that about the H&V misto as well, but this one has aged for over a year, so it cant be that it’s too fresh. It’s just too boozy.
