Vaiz (4460) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - AUG 25, 2012
Bottle at home. Pitch black pour, thin dark brown head. Aroma of burnt malts, chocolate, peat, tobacco, alcohol, spices and oat. Flavor is quite bitter and very roasted. Well balanced. So dark, it gives a sense of impending doom. Nice brew.

330ml bottle. Pitch black with small, reawakening, frothy to creamy, minimally lacing, brownish head. Intense whiskey aroma with leather notes, disguised roasty dark malty basis. Taste is roasty dark malty with leather and vanilla notes, some bitter hop overtones, a minimally tart note, a touch of warming alcohol in the finish.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a pitch black with a tiny brownish head. Roasty nose combined with quite some whisky heat. Medium body only, surprisingly carbonated. Quite some chocolate, bitter roast while the alcohol is surprisingly well hidden

Ibrew2or3 (8748) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - AUG 10, 2012
33cl bottle pours mahogany with mocha like head of foam. The aroma offers up molasses, dark roasted malts, some spicy wood like notes and then vague soft barrel notes. The taste begins with roasted malts, dark roasted malts and some chocolate. It then moves into almost peaty like booze and spicy wood. Overall the mouthfeel is on the thin side and the taste lingers with mild spicy wood notes and fading roasted maltiness.

kraddel (8615) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - AUG 8, 2012
enjoyed this as a treat in a 33 cl bottle at de kelk ( bruges) . wich i’m very thanfull for ! this one and hel en verdoemenis made me a real fan of de molen ! this is a stout ( so i knew already i was gonna like it) but less sweet than de hel en verdoemenis. but WAAW ! so concentrated, withoud going over the top ! they’ve menaged to create a thickness, a complexity, a heaviness and so on, that is just right there at the line , but not crossing it. theyve pusched it to the maximum withoud going in the red zone ! if these were cheaper and unlimited ( wich i think they are) id have one weekley !

330 ml bottle.
Pours a pitch black colour with a beautiful beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, Speyside whiskey, sweet toffee and ash. Flavour of roasted malts, smoked wood, Speyside whiskey again, raisins, caramel and low bitterness. Rich mouthfeel and good carbonation. Very rich finish with roasted malts, dark fruits and some tanginess. Very smooth and exceptional without being overly extreme.
