Garlic_of_Doom (638) - - NOV 9, 2012
Bottle at Trls. Pours black with lacing instead of a head. Aroma is a bit smoky and leathery with the regular roasted malts. Leathery, roasted in taste as well. Some coffee and liquorice. Quite bitter taste over all, leaning towards sour which wasnt that good. Perhaps not a perfect bottle. Dry and a bit ashy mouth feel, long bitter after taste. Full bodied, low carbonation. Alcohol is well hidden and only shows up at the end.

May 2016 - Bottle share at Floor 42 with thanks to Matty for this rare De Molen tick. As Brouwerij De Molen Haver & Gort, 12.3%, black wax, bottled Feb 2012. Opaque black, dense foamy brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, fruity, some burnt plastic, some almost vegetal oaky stuff, leafy. Body is light-ish for style, a touch frothy, tingly carbonation. Taste is roasted malt, chocolatey, mixed salad leaves, oak, thin whisky. A nice imperial stout. (3.8)
