(750ml bottle thanks to bu11zeye) clear medium amber, no bubbles. Nose of honey, hops, and brown sugar. Taste is very bitter, uncarbonarted, too many esters for me. Hansen (8615) - Assentoft, DENMARK - NOV 18, 2011
Dark brown, and unclear. Has an off-white head mostly lasting. Heavy sweet aroma, druid fruit, plum, figs, soy sauce, dark. Flavor is heavy sweet, heavy bitter too, light acidic. syrupy texture. Soft carbonation. Zita (6331) - Assentoft, DENMARK - NOV 18, 2011
soy sauce, smoke, roasty, dark brown, light brown foam, medium sweetness, medium bitterness, full body, creamy, soft carbonation, bitter, heavy long finish. MoritzF (10095) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - OCT 22, 2011
(bottle, 33cl, #48/1248) Hazy, ruby brown colour with a beige and short foamy head. Caramel-malty and slightly bready aroma with a vinous-fruity, almost Sherry-like note. Sweet-bitter flavour, almost full bodied with a smooth carbonation. Hearty (cara-)malt character with notes of bread, liquorice and a well-attenuated slightly fruity and resiny hoppy touch; sweet-bitter malt-accened finish with a vinous touch and a well-masked alcohol. Very good. 12.X.11

Bottle #48: Amber to deep amber coloured, small and stable tanned head, dry caramelly and (port-)vinous nose, a good dash of aromatic hops underneath; medium to full bodied, pretty soft, solid bitter-sweet flavour; perfectly balanced caramelly and hoppy finish, dry hoppy aftertaste. Fine brew... 77ships (11036) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - SEP 25, 2011

2008 Vintage 75 cl. bottle/[email protected]
: bottle nr. 271/384: dark brown with a ruby hue & egg-white head, smell is despite the age an explosion of American, lots of grapefruit & pine, underneath there is a malty & caramely sweetness, taste is bitter but also very fruity including lots of grapefruit but also some grapefruit, berries, pineapple, sweet lemons, caramel malt sweetness buried underneath, bitter aftertaste, pine, I am also getting some sourness in the aftertaste & ome brett, not sure if it is intentional, this is halfway between a barleywine & a IIPA
Bottle from 2009. No head. Dark red.-amber colour. Powefull malty and fruity aroma. Rasin and plumb dominating. No fresh hops left. Light sweet powerfull bitter flavor. Vinius. Batley wine like. Long heavy bitter finish. Creamy palate. Too flat. Maybe I waited too long. hellbilly (3306) - scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA - JUL 26, 2011
another from gene 11/1/10. batch 146/324 brewed 29,dec 2008.
it pours out a thick murky coppery brown.
it smells murky as well... sweaty hops, wood, caramel, dried fruit/raisins, grain and lots of alcohol.
the flavor is the same only sweet without a balance. at the edge of cloying and no longer fun... 6/4/5/3 dEnk (4200) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - JUL 18, 2011
Bottle, tfs Vaiz! Aroma is huge sugary caramel goodness.
Flavour is sugary malt goddness. Fruity malt, touch of spice, some liquorice. No more double IPA, but the barleywine that’s left is very nice.
