Bottle at home, nr0862 Pours pitch black with a dense tanned head. Aroma of figs, prunes, some oak, rounded burnt notes and some alcohol. Tastes of dried dark fruits, massive taste of sweet dark malts, some oak. Medium bitterness and a silky smooth aftertaste of dried fruits and oak. Only thing holding this beer back from max score is that I would have liked to see a bit more body and a little less carbonation. A recomended brew if you can get hold of it. 0,2l on tap @ Mikkeller Bar. Pours very dark brown with a low tan head. Aroma is roasted malts, dark fruits, cognac and alcohol. Flavor is roasted malts, coffee, cognac, dark fruits and hops. Great! Staffan47 (908) - Uppsala, SWEDEN - MAR 20, 2014
KingCecil (2087) - DENMARK - MAR 15, 2014
Bottle @ home from Mikkeller & Friends bottleshop…. It pours pitch black with a medium creamy beige head…..sweet roasted malt, coffee, oak, chocolate, licorice, dark fruits…… nice... yngwie (17284) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAR 12, 2014
Bottle, 33cl. A black one, topped by a dense, dark beige head. The aroma has chocolate, coffee, some alcohol notes, booze actually, and a light roasted touch. There’s some bitterness in the flavor, of the hoppy kind, as well as chocolate, coffee, some roasted malts and booze. It’s warming and full-bodied on the palate, with a soft and pleasant carbonation level. Lasting roasted and lightly boozy finish. Overall, too warming, but sure tasteful. 140207

From a bottle at the rb tasting it is a dark brown color with a slight head. The aroma is of licorice and the taste is of coffee that resonates of licorice. It is an amazing beer! Iphonephan (7474) - Jackson Hole/McLean, Virginia, USA - MAR 9, 2014
From a 33 cl bottle shared at the March 2014 DC RB gathering. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of licorice. Flavors of licorice, roasted malts and coffee notes. Medium heavy body, soft carbonation. Boozy finish. Hoprider (778) - DENMARK - MAR 9, 2014
Black with a semi dense head. The nose is so good. So ballanced. Caramelly roasted malts, slight vanilla, dark chocolate, licorice and god knows what. The taste is equally amazing. Creamy mouthfeel and a slight burn in the end. To me this is one of the best De Molen brews I’ve had. A must try! AgentAle (1848) - Fort Mcmurray, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 3, 2014
Aroma is very strong and rich. Smokiness, caramel, molasses, fig, smokiness all here. Taste is a rich fruitiness with plum and raison with a roasty maltiness. A tad of alcohol bite but not much for a 10% beer.Appearance is black with a head thwt retains poorly.

33 cl bottle from Molen Beershop. Almost black color. Beige head, quickly receding. Aroma’s of alcohol/whiskey, chocolate, roasted malts, some soy sauce (especially smelling from the bottle), a little ed fruit. Flavor is sweet, chocolate, somewhat (red) fruity. Medium bodied. Alcohol doesn’t seem like 13%. Long finish with chocolate, some roast. Nice!
