Bottle n. 0679 from the De Molen shop
Black color with generous head. The aroma is initially very nice with a whiskey impression, but less interesting later with a vinous touch along dusty and milky roasted malts. Good body strength and smooth mouthfeel, not thick; strong flavor of roasted malts, some dry dark chocolate shavings, and a pleasant whiskey character; strong bitterness, and the alcohol too is quite strong; evident liquorice in the end.
Excellent as usual.

Bottle at Bruce’s pad, cheers to our host, 31/07/13. #0079. Very dark mahogony brown with a medium sized tan head. Nose is chocolate, big roast malt blast, earthy, dark toffee. Taste comprises earthy cocoa beans, roast malts, sugars, dark treacle, leather, ash, light booze. Full bodied, fine carbonation, lightly warming alcohol in the finale. Decent impy.

On tap at De Molen Borefts 2017. Black beer lasting tan head. Good dark chocolate. Some chocolate sponge cake flavour. Well balanced. Just a lovely dark chocolate sponge cake of a beer. Smooth. Light ho sting on finish . Really good.

UPDATED: DEC 12, 2013 Bottle at Mikkeller & Friends, Copenhagen. Bottle no 330. Pitch black beer with a small beige head. Malty peat aroma, whisky, caramel, figs, raisins, dark chocolate, hay, licorice, vanilla, roasted, plums, soot, some cocoa powder. Roasted chocolate flavor, whiskey, woody, plums, raisins, peat, vanilla, hay, caramel, prunes, tar, licorice, cocoa powder, warming alcohol, some raisins. Roasted finish with whiskey, wood, raisins and alcohol. Yes, I have had better 666-versions. Yes, this beer will improve with time. But still its a great beer. New rating, on tap at Mikkeller Bar in december 2013. Same flavors, but more mature. This beer has gained on being on keg for 8-10 months.

12 oz. bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings out notes of bourbon, spiciness, and roast. Flavour seems off a bit, with notes of cough syrup, other medicinal notes and light barrel notes. Something seems badly wrong here - how is this in the 100th percentile? Decent, but lacking.

Bottle, 33cl. A black one, topped by a dense, dark beige head. The aroma has chocolate, coffee, some alcohol notes, booze actually, and a light roasted touch. There’s some bitterness in the flavor, of the hoppy kind, as well as chocolate, coffee, some roasted malts and booze. It’s warming and full-bodied on the palate, with a soft and pleasant carbonation level. Lasting roasted and lightly boozy finish. Overall, too warming, but sure tasteful. 140207
