Bottle smuggled from Netherlands as a gift care of Kermis shared with Jeano. Pours sinful black with small head that didn’t hang around for too long. Notes of bakers chocolate, rich barrel, caramel, tons of licorice and an impressive malt/hop bill. Has some nice bitterness mixed into the decadent roasty dark notes. Long lasting and warming in the chest. Cheech ahh tiong (7343) - Espoo, FINLAND - AUG 23, 2014
330ml bottle from Mikkeller & FriendsBorresteijn (7275) - Zaandam, NETHERLANDS - AUG 30, 2013
Bottle #0022 (!), vertical with 666 - Pours pitch black with a tiny bubbly head. Aroma of roasty malts, whisky, vanilla, oak, wood and sweet syrup. Taste is heavy, sweet and roasty with notes of whisky, vanilla, oak, wood and syrup. Finish is smooth, woody and oaky with notes of vanilla and whisky. Quite heavy and sweet, whisky notes are more subtle than the cognac notes in 666.
33cl Bottle from De Molen Beershop. Black colour, light-brown head. Aroma of loads of booze in the beginning, bourbon, sweet soy sauce, hard roasted - ashy - malts, molasses, coffee, chocolate. Flavour is sweet, less boozy than expected apart from the slight burn in the finish, bourbon, oak, soy sauce, molasses, coffee, hard roasted malts, firm bitter roasted malts in the finish. Full-bodied. Good, just a touch from great. This one really needs to mellow out a bit more imho, although I usually like RIS’s fresh. caesar (7165) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - JUL 10, 2013
Tap @ de Molen. Dark color, short brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolat, dry oak wood, some coffee. Full bodied, creamy texture. Big malty taste, quite sweet, medium bitter, slight dry. The oak chips came through a bit too much, or perhaps the Dutchsky gives it a woody touch as well. Not my favorite, as I’m a sucker for bourbon. Still, wonderful beer.

Aftertaste is plant extract roast, bitter, grass, liquorice, malt roast, light porridge and tabacco.
Low carbo, soft silky mouthfeel, full body and an oily texture.
Decent beer, but there’s something strange with this beer. Is it the liquor, the dryness or the spicy bitter tones.. Or is it a mix of all these things? But it’s soft and smooth..
After a time breathing it all becomes even better balanced. Good beer! RobertDale (6578) - Lansing, Kansas, USA - MAR 20, 2015
