thnx to kermis ! at rampkrot whale tasting, drank the day after ( it was closed by a corck, so the diffrence should not be that big )
i went INSANE when i heard this was at cbc , and i wasnt able to go . thank god i did get this one after all. 666 ’regular’ is my top favourite beer. so if only for the label, i NEEDED to have this !
pours pure black, small layer of grey foam, fades to a ring .
very oaty in the smell, hel en verdoemenis is definetly there.
actualy, this is very comparable to the 666 ! thats unexpected ( by the discription, not the label , wich is a copy of the regular one ;) )
bitter, bit lighter mouthfeel than the 666 . sweet, and VERY good. givven the fact this is a day open now ( closed pretty good though, it actualy popped when re-opened ) . not as shocking as the 666 though. it misses the warm smell, the supergood aftertaste. plus coffee is less straight forward.
but whiskey isnt my thing AT ALL n, and it doesnt bother me, not even close, in this beer. so very well done!
will rerate when i had again and the bottle hasnt been opened. i have another bottle so it should be no problem :) gunnfryd (14836) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JUN 5, 2014
Bottle. Black colour with a tan head. Aroma is alcohol, coffee, licorice, roasted malt. Flavour is alcohol, coffee, licorice, roasted malt, sugar. Very nice world class beer. Vaiz (4460) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - JUL 26, 2013
Bottle at home. Black pour, tan head. Aroma is roasty, some wet cigar, old yellowish newspaper, vanilla, leather, a hint of cognac, chocolate, caramel, some bready yeast and tobacco. Flavor is smooth syrupy roasted goodness, very full bodied, slightly sweet chocolate and quite bitter roastedness with a spicy tobacco like finish. Awesome balance and hugy body. A brew to sip. Lovely. maneliquor (3514) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - AUG 1, 2013
Bottle cheers to Ranga Jackson. Pours thick as the night black with a small, densely coating khaki head. Heavy spotted lacing and good retention. Nose is quite smokey upon first sniff. As it warms it begins to open up with notes of light black cherry, aniseed, roasted coffee, touch of sweet peat - almost hickory smoke. Taste consumes you. Very well balanced for such a complex beer. Wow. The smokiness sits behind everything giving that little bit extra depth. Loads of powdered, heavily dark chocolate - almost salty and fills out the palate quite substantially leaving a dryness on the finish. Molasses/liquorice comes through with light raisin sweetness. Fantastic beer. No heat whatsoever. Drinks superbly. Would love to have it again Barrelbelly (750) - BELGIUM - NOV 29, 2013
The aroma and taste have something of an old bookcase. Wood, dusty, whisky, chocolate, roasted coffee. Very long whisky coffee aftertaste.

Nice light brown dense creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly rich, dark malts, cognac, oak, licorice, dark sugar, dark chocolate, vanilla, burnt caramel, dark fruits, cocoa nibs. Taste is rich and very balanced, dark malts, oak, cognac, dark chocolate pudding, licorice, vanilla, caramel, dark sugar, cocoa nibs, coffee, old rope. Medium bitterness, very smooth slightly dry and syrupy mouthfeel. Very nice, but I think I remeber the regular one as much better.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours black with a short, khaki head with a thick lacing and sticky legs. Aroma contains cocoa, cherries, sweet smokiness (almost a light peatiness) and a light touch of good quality coffee. Taste is where it gets interesting, huge dark cocoa powder flavour, backed by a toasty molasses sweetness and lingering port notes with raisins and cherries. Light bitterness that was unobtrusive and let the malt do the talking. Definitely a different stout to what I’m used to, if you see this buy it. DutchMark (395) - NETHERLANDS - NOV 8, 2013
Great stout! Espresso, dark choclate, fruits, bitter beer and whiskey. it is all there in the right amounts. very tasty!
