33cl, Bottle N°626, new exclusive Dutch brew Anno 2013, from De Molen Beershop Bodegraven, very complex Stout, roasted/woody and slightly alcoholic/spicy, yet not too heavy, balanced, hazy, small head, top class!, yet expensive! Aniela (4215) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JUN 12, 2013
Bottle. Black beer with a not lasting tanned head. Dried dark fruits, vanilla, dark chocolate, licorice aroma with some alcohol hints. simliar flavour, maybe a bit too much alcohol flavour. This one needs to mature for a few years to peak. Countbeer (6599) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - JUN 14, 2013
Bottle: The number of this Beast is 0049:
Dark brown to black pour. Medium sized, vast, slowly changing, light sticky brown foamy head on top of a black colored beer.
Aromas of porridge, some chocolate, some liquorice, light roast, liquor, light whiskey (and lighter cognac) notes, hint of berries, hints of marzepin, filled chocolate, light tar ish tones, grass and floral. A well balanced herbal floral barrel aged roasted mix.
Flavours of dry liquor and dry roast, some (dry) liquorice, plant extracts, spices, alcohol, bitter, some chocolate and some cacoa, figs, coal, tabacco, some berries, parfume, oil, tar, chalk, some wood burn/roast and ash. Balanced.
Aftertaste is plant extract roast, bitter, grass, liquorice, malt roast, light porridge and tabacco.
Low carbo, soft silky mouthfeel, full body and an oily texture.
Decent beer, but there’s something strange with this beer. Is it the liquor, the dryness or the spicy bitter tones.. Or is it a mix of all these things? But it’s soft and smooth..
After a time breathing it all becomes even better balanced. Good beer!

Great imp. Stout. Complex. Like the fact it's aged on their own whiskey.

Bottle at Bruce’s - London. Many thanks to Bruce! Pours oily black with a thick, frothy mocha head. Lots of ashy roast in the nose, some espresso, dark chocolate. Medium to big sweet flavor, some burnt cocoa, burnt marshmallows, dark wood, good roast, raisins and other dark fruits, mild burnt earth bitterness. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Fairly warming to finish, lots of rich dark chocolate, some chocolate cake, modest earth, some ash, dark bread, figs and raisins. Really nice. Well balanced, deep, quite drinkable. jbeatty (1267) - New York, USA - AUG 6, 2013
Bottle, thanks to Jeffo! 08/06/2013. Pours black, thin light tan head fades to hazy layer of foam on the surface, tight ring of lacing around the glass. Aroma begins with whiskey- vanilla, coconut and melted caramel- light toffee chocolate roast, fudge and booze-soaked raisin, light cherry. Taste is spicy caramel and whiskey, subtle vinous notes, cocoa dusting, darker bitter roast amid lighter fruit elements, vanilla hiding in the background. Thick body, definitely some heat but drinks well. Very cool, hope to have more soon. BOLTZ7555 (3127) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - OCT 10, 2013
Bottle acquired via trade with Benzai...Rene is a ROCKSTAR! Onyx pour with a small latte head that left a spot or two inside the glass. Aroma of baker’s chocolate, molasses, campfire charred marshmallows, vanilla, and caramel. Flavor similar, showing a heavier dose of ash and smoke. Dense, creamy, and coating. Another great beer from De Molen!
