Bottle, 33cl. A black one, topped by a dense, dark beige head. The aroma has chocolate, coffee, some alcohol notes, booze actually, and a light roasted touch. Theres some bitterness in the flavor, of the hoppy kind, as well as chocolate, coffee, some roasted malts and booze. Its warming and full-bodied on the palate, with a soft and pleasant carbonation level. Lasting roasted and lightly boozy finish. Overall, too warming, but sure tasteful. 140207

From a bottle at the rb tasting it is a dark brown color with a slight head. The aroma is of licorice and the taste is of coffee that resonates of licorice. It is an amazing beer!

Black with a semi dense head. The nose is so good. So ballanced. Caramelly roasted malts, slight vanilla, dark chocolate, licorice and god knows what. The taste is equally amazing. Creamy mouthfeel and a slight burn in the end. To me this is one of the best De Molen brews Ive had. A must try!

Aroma is very strong and rich. Smokiness, caramel, molasses, fig, smokiness all here. Taste is a rich fruitiness with plum and raison with a roasty maltiness. A tad of alcohol bite but not much for a 10% beer.Appearance is black with a head thwt retains poorly.

Aromas of alcohol/whiskey, chocolate, roasted malts, some soy sauce (especially smelling from the bottle), a little ed fruit. Flavor is sweet, chocolate, somewhat (red) fruity. Medium bodied. Alcohol doesnt seem like 13%. Long finish with chocolate, some roast. Nice!

> An umami/salt/smoke and fresh orange version of our beloved H&V behemoth

[ Bottle ][ bytemesis ][ 330mL ][ Pizza Boy Snifter ][ Trade ][ 1/31/14 ]
>> Pours deep sepia with lower coffee foam. Nose totally insane- rich fudge, vanilla ice cream, sweet smoke, powerful black miso umami, black rock salt. Taste is a bit ashy with decent lemon, finishing true with bitter chocolate, moderate smoke, salt, miso. Palate gets richer, silkier as it warms with bright orange dark chocolate. Fantastic version of this classic.

Gedronken bij en dankzij joes. Zwarte/bruine kleur. Beige schuimkraag. Ruikt naar hout, vanille, alcohol, beetje cacao. Smaakt zoet, alcohol, vanille, chocolade.
