Bottle thanks to Bursprak! Pours pitch black with a small brown head. Aromas of sweet dark fruits, cognac, licorice, coffee, roast, malts. Taste is malty, cognac, dark fruits, licorice, light vanilla, light heat and a dry roasty finish. BOLTZ7555 (3027) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - OCT 10, 2013
Bottle acquired via trade with Benzai...Rene is a ROCKSTAR! Onyx pour with a small latte head that left a spot or two inside the glass. Aroma of baker’s chocolate, molasses, campfire charred marshmallows, vanilla, and caramel. Flavor similar, showing a heavier dose of ash and smoke. Dense, creamy, and coating. Another great beer from De Molen! ciocanelu (3011) - Timisoara, ROMANIA - MAY 17, 2016
Pitch black color with no head. Aroma has big bourbon and peated whiskey. Taste is also slightly peated but mostly has sweet bourbon, caramel and the finish is bitter with dark coffee flavor. Medium body with the right amount of carbonation for the style. Really good version of H&V. mariuspoenari (2999) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - MAY 16, 2016
On tap at Mikkeller Bar, pre-CBC. Pitch black with no head. Bourbon, whiskey, coffee, chocolate, licorice. Full bodied with a sticky-sweet aftertaste. RasmusOtt (2902) - Aarhus, DENMARK - AUG 1, 2014
Bottle. Pours black with a fizzy brown head. Aroma is nice base H&V with some smokey whiskey notes, sweet chocolate, sweet ripe fruits, vanilla and woody notes behind. Pretty nice Aroma yo. The taste reminds me a lot about H&V too.. Lots of roasted notes, liquorice, and darks died fruits but also some vanilla and some more alcohol woody notes behind. Not a turn off at all. The beer carries the 13% very well. Lower carb would not hurt anyone though :). All in all - This is gawd stuffz!

Way too heavy taste and odor of alcohol. This beer is not drinkable. Unfortunately, that is. Heavy aftertaste too. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings. savnac (2656) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - JUN 28, 2013
Bottle from DeMolen. Dark brown almost black with a small, light tan head. Aroma of cocoa, whiskey, vanilla, roasted malt and alcohol. Flavor is boozy up front with plenty of chocolate, bitter roast and oak. Medium to full body with soft carbonation and a long hot finish. Very similar to the other BA versions. GothGargoyle (2588) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 29, 2014
Dark brown/black with a good chocolate head. Aroma is liquorice, de Molen yeast, dark fruits, blackcurrant, anise. Full bodied, creamy mouthfeel, smooth and complex on the palate. Taste is liquorice, blackcurrant, chocolate, anise, subtle hint of leather. Nische (2568) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUN 28, 2014
Opaque dark brown beer with a tidy tan head. Palate is soft, viscous and a little dry. Sweetish dark malt with rich coffee and a touch of alcohol spice. Light brandy liqueur before the smooth dry finish. armando629 (2456) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JAN 4, 2014
0,33 l bottle from De Molen Shop, courtesy of Balazs, thanks!
Poured rock oil, small but stable beige head. Very intensive aroma with roasted grains, burnt wood, alcohol and plum, ash and overriped fruits. Huge, oily body with caramel, whiskey, roasted grains and burnt wood. Fruity, demonish beer that shows us the temptation.
