PhillyCraft (7092) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 1, 2012
Bottle #126 split with Pat, Joe Beck, and Mr. Fannon. Brownish black pour, not much head at all, small lace, aromas of chocolate, almonds, cabernet, and bourdeaux. Taste is toffee, caramel, coffee beans, dark chocolatem apples, roasty sugars, merlot or another sweet red wine. Flavor was as complex as you can get and constantly change on each sip especially as it warmed slightly. Warming as can be. Another gem from the best brewer in Europe. En riktigt kraftig IS.
Bottle bought in Copenhagen in 2010. My last beer in 2012, in total I drank 929 new beers in 2012.
Black with no head. The aroma was complex and vinous with roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, licorice, ash and some notes of alcohol. The taste was excellent. Vinous with dark fruit, coffee, dark chocolate, red wine and some alcohol. The body was unexpectedly "light". I really liked this beer, it was a worthy ending to 2012. Gott nytt år!

Tap @ BBF ’10. Dark color, hardly any head. Aroma of thick roasted malt, some red wine, some chocolat. Tastes a lot like the splendid original H&V, but with soft tones of red fruit added. The thick H&V omnipresent. Lovely malty, hint of oak-aging. Just great stuff. skortila (5798) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - SEP 27, 2010
On tap @ 2nd BBF. The aroma has roast, dark chocolate, some vanilla and subtle hints of oak and red wine. Black coloured beer with a beige lace. The taste is sweet, bitter and has chocolate, vanilla and light oak. Delicate, subtle and very complex. Probably the best in the H&V series.

Tap @ BBF 2010. Almost black and opague. Candied fruit, grapes, maple syrup in the aroma. Roasted but vinous flavor with ash and candied fruit, licorice, grapes. Almost perfect balance. Another jewel in the Molen crown. Borresteijn (6969) - Zaandam, NETHERLANDS - SEP 28, 2010
On tap at Borefts BF ’10. Yet another H&V masterpiece. Black colour, thin breige-brown head. Aroma of the regular H&V, chocolate, coffee, touch of vanilla, coconut, hard roasted malts. Flavour is a bit more mellow than the regular, with some light sweet red wine added, no sourness, a bit earthy. Medium to fullbodied. Great great stuff. sfhodense (4789) - Odense NØ, DENMARK - NOV 2, 2010
Pours black with a tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, smoke, oak and light redwine. Flavour is roasted malt, chocolate, liquorish and light smoke. stobbe74 (3789) - DENMARK - NOV 10, 2010
Sample at Borefts Beer Festival 2010. Pours a pitch black beer with a beige head. The aroma is roasted, licorice, coffee, wood and vanilla. The flavor is close to the nose. The palate is roasted with some sweetness. Overall a really good beer. yngwie (17038) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - NOV 10, 2010
Bottle, 190/600, 18cl, at Patricks. A beer without head, just some brown bubbles, a few. Oily, black body. Loads of coffee on the nose, a solid dose of alcohol too. Chocolate and bonfire blends in. Very oily in the mouth, but not thick, quite flat. Warming and dry as well. The flavor is burnt, with lots of coffee and chocolate, some sugary sweetness and a good dash of alcohol. Some wine notes too. Lasting finish with a good alcohol burn and a solid coffee flavor. A wonderful one, not a beer to drink a lot of, but a nip size bottle is just fine. 101110
