September 2017 - Keg at Beavertown Extravaganza. As 'De Molen Hel & Verdoemenis Bourbon Barrel Aged Brett'. Opaque black with a foamy light brown head. Aroma is rounded bourbon and vanilla, light chocolatey vibes. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is dark chocolate, bretty, earthy, cocoa powder with a spicy finish. Nice but never usually blown away by bretted imperial stouts - same here. (7-4-7-4-15=3.7) caesar (7286) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - NOV 6, 2017
Bottle from Mitra Bunnik. Dark colored, short head. Aroma has tar and leather from roasted malts combined with Brett. A nice layer of vanilla and cookie from the Bourbon makes it all quite ok. Flavor however is quite unbalanced. Brett gives the leathery touch, but also sucks the beer dry and leaves nothing of the creamy stout H&V once was. Instead it accentuates the alcohol and dry roast and therefore finishes with a sharp touch. Brett is not to be put in a big RIS, or in a high ABV beer whatsoever. And certainly not by de Molen. Sweet, dark chocolate, cacao, light bourbon, brett. Hazy, very dark brown, medium, creamy, beige head. Light bitter. More cacao, burnt cacao beans, soft carbonation, full bodied. Nice one, could be a touch more complexity and intensity. Keg at Beavertown Extravaganza 17, Canada Water. Koelschtrinker (21492) - K?ln (Cologne), GERMANY - OCT 23, 2017
Trocken, dunkel malziger Antrunk. Weich schokoladig, wenig getreidig, dunkle Holznoten. Süffig, weich, milde Alkoholnoten sind erkennbar. Langer Nachhall. 10/11/11/11//11 Theydon_Bois (20636) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - OCT 15, 2017
Keg at the Beavertown Extravaganza, day two, 09/09/17.
Hazed yellow with an adequate off white covering.
Pith black with a tan cap that dissipates to a swirl.
Nose carries a light brett whisper, charr, roast malts, chocolate melt.
Taste comprises fruit cake, aniseed, light brett dung, spice, charr, cocoa rub, liquorice, molasses, mellow bourbon tones.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light alcohol tickle.
Ok impy but didn't deliver on the ABV or really get out of 3rd gear for me!

UPDATED: OCT 4, 2017 Opaque black beer with a slight brown/dark brown head. Medium/heavy aroma with loads of bourbon, roast and tart; I would even say some red wine. Taste follow and is a beautiful mix of this with a great palate. kermis (14553) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - OCT 1, 2017

Draft at Borefts Beer Festival '17. Black with a beige head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, light brett coming out, toffee and coffee. Flavour is heavy sweet and above moderate bitter. Full bodied with soft carbonation.
At Borefts 2017. Aroma of soft brett, chocolate, tart and bourbon. Taste has rich bourbon, chocolate, soft brett, thick vanilla and subtle tart. The brett works really well in this one. Zlotta (3823) - Hagen / Düsseldorf, GERMANY - SEP 30, 2017
Sampled from tap at Borefts 2017. Pitch black with a medium large, slightly creamy, stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, moderately roasty aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice and some vanilla. Slightly sweet, rather roasty-malty taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, vanilla and some bourbon, followed by a long, rather roasty-bitter, earthy-dry finish. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice, don't get much brett actually. Benzai (16687) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - SEP 28, 2017
Sampled @ Borefts Beer Festival 2017, day 2. Opaque dark brown to black color, medium sized light brown colored head. Smell and taste malts, roasted malts, the full H&V flavors, nice bourbon addition and the brett works fine as well. Medium body and cacrbonation. Nice, well made.
