Clear dark brown beer, small creamy beige small head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots of whisky, alcohol, peated, caramel, sweet, bit sugary. MF: soft carbon, full body. Taste: sweet malty start, caramel, pretty peated, roasted, lots of coffee, bit burnt. Aftertaste: little bitter, dark chocolate, peated, some sweet mocha.
Overpowering beer. Intense taste of strong roasted malt, peat, a bit smoke and, surprisingly, some bitterness. Aftertaste of coffee and whisky. Nice. jfb (6264) - GERMANY - JUN 18, 2014
(bottle) pours black in colour with a small brown head. aroma of intense peat smoke and iodine, with a hint of ash, some brown sugar, toasted malts, honey and vanilla. flavour is mostly chocolate icing, soy sauce and toasted malts, with quite a bit of alcohol, some more peat smoke, cornflakes, brown sugar and a dry finish. heavy-bodied with soft carbonation. deekyn (1459) - San Francisco, California, USA - JUN 16, 2014
A- pours an opaque mahogany black with lighter cola brown edges and virtually no head or lacing. S- wonderful strong peat and iodine. Charcoal (from cedar), chocolate, vinyl, bandaids, dried oats, smoked malts, fatty bacon, tobacco. Most of the aroma is overwhelmed by the peat. M- medium oily body with a full tangy and smokey palate. Low carbonation. T- similar to aroma. Some vinyl, chocolate, dirt, vegetal notes and charcoal first. Mild vanilla. Peat and iodine are strong again in the middle. Some salt and seared steak. Ending is slightly bitter and has a mild aftertaste. Zinc is strong with some grass, toothpaste-esque mint and cacao. Bottle bought at Bierkoning. Appearance: Very dark brown, with a thin beige head which diminishes quickly.

Bottle (330 ml). Black with a medium thick quickly diminishing beige head and no lacing. Aroma is dominated by Bowmore (peat, iodine) along some wood and light chocolate notes. Taste is also very Bowmore forward with a tons of peat and iodine, chocolate notes, alcohol and light molasses. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Liquorous mouthfeel. Back with a good beige head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, smoke, leather, oak, peat. Full bodied, creamy mouthfeel, sweet and smoky on the palate with a long smoky finish. Bottled. Pours opaque black with a tan, medium sized and creamy head. Malty nose of bitter chocolate, vanilla and peat. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry with alcohol. Full bodied, oily texture and flat carbonation. A delicious Impy.
