Bottled at AndySnow tasting. Black with minimal head. Liqorice and fruity, mildly smoky whisky up front. Mid sweet with medium-full body and well, rounded mouthfeel. Licorice, coffee and tar. Warming finish. Elegant and rich.

33 cl bottle @ home, bottled Setp. 16, 2013. Black color. Light brown head with a thin layer retention. Aroma’s: iodine, roast, peat, light sweet. Retronasal it’s peaty, roast, sweet, iodine, chocolate. Flavor is moderate sweet, moderate bitter, ashy. Rather strong alcohol feel. Medium bodied. Still enough carbonation. Finish is moderate bitter, peaty. Nice!

Idiosynkrasie (7432) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - FEB 1, 2017
330ml bottle. Quasi black colour, some late awakening beige bubbles quickly fade away. Slightly alcoholic, dark malty aroma, notes of oak, leather, vanilla, treacle, caramel, some shoe polish. Taste is roasty dark malty, slightly alcoholic, notes of oak, leather, vanilla, treacle, dark chocolate, hints of shoe polish, slightly biting, chili-like peppery spciness, subtle sweetness; oily texture, smooth, soft and minimally sticky palate.

MrHangover (4442) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - MAY 29, 2016
Bottle, bottled September 2013. Pours an inky black beer with a really small amount of light tanned head on top. Aroma has loads of booze, scotch, some wood, loads of molasses and a peppery note. Flavor is very sweet, licorice with scotch influences. Very strong alcoholic, sweet and sugary with loads of influences from the Bowmore. A tad unbalanced, still very enjoyable, yet flat as hell. Nice beer!!!

Neus zit beetje dicht helaas, maar deze ba geur komt daar prima doorheen. Mooi zwart, complexe smaak. Wel beetje alcoholisch.

androman (2290) - Maarssen, NETHERLANDS - FEB 6, 2016
33cl bottle at home from Plan B, Rotterdam. Nose is smoky whiskey. Body is pitch black, head is very small, beige, mostly diminishing, fair lacing. Aroma is dark roasted coffee, smoke, toast, dark chocolate, licorice, old wood. Light sweet, heavy roasty bitter. Finish is long lasting roasty heavy bitter, medium chocolate, light smoked wood. Full body, oily sticky texture, nearly flat carbonation. Quite heavy dessert beer, interesting, tasty, great one.

sjogro (3954) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - NOV 30, 2015
Poetically put "Rich black death"! Irish coffee, deep and burnt flavors, thick spicy and bitter. Powerful stuff! Backlog from 2014/03/15.

3.7
Scopey (14511) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 16, 2015
Bottle thanks to Matteo. It pours opaque black with a decent tan head. The nose is rich roasted malt, rather oily, sweet vanilla, toffee, cocoa, sweet smoke and dried fruits. The taste is rich roast, oily, toasty, charred wood, burnt coconut, earthy whisky, mild smoked peat and milk chocolate with a smooth finish. Medium - full body, fine carboantion and chewy mouth-feel. All comes together pretty well. Decent, but not nearly as punchy as some of the other whisky barrel versions of this beer.
