Pours black with a dark espresso head. Aroma is smokey with burnt sugar, burnt malts, woolen sweaters, used robes, pirate-like maritime, tobacco and the regular HV behind. Taste is peat, smoke and rather dry with notes of tobacco, roasted/burnt malts, savory, earthy and with lots of coffee, salmiak and other qualities from the regular HV. I actually like the balance in this. Interesting barrel! Vestergaard (2089) - Aarhus C, DENMARK - OCT 11, 2013
Pitch black. Light brown fluffy head. Smells like ocean, burned sugar, lots of smoke and peat, and some of the same caramelly notes you get from smoked barrels. Taste is pretty dry at first. Really really peaty. Truly another direction of beer than the bourbon barrel aged versions, but this is in my opinion a better execution. The smoke blends really well with the beer despite being quite strong. I am still not that much into smoked beer, but this definitely makes sense to me! ChopperPY (56) - SWITZERLAND - OCT 8, 2013

Draft. A black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of tar, peated smoke, roasted malt, and whiskey. Thebflavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, alcohol, peated smoke, and whiskey, leading to a bitter finish. SlackerMads (3360) - DENMARK - SEP 10, 2013
Bottle. Pitch black and a generous pour creates a small dissipating beige head. Strong peat in the nose. Flavor has peat, iodine, charcoal, light sweet chocolate, light roasted notes, alcohol warmth. Full body, nice creamy texture. This is heavy peated which I usually don’t care much for, but the texture is very nice and if I ever happen to be in the mood for something peated, this would make a good choice. sic1314 (4775) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - SEP 10, 2013
Poured an oily deep dark brown with a thin tan ring. Aroma phenolic and vinous, sweet rauching.Full body, flavour of sweet, strong smoked caramel malt, warming mouthfeel. Nice, but a bit one dimensional. Embrouille (2853) - SWITZERLAND - SEP 4, 2013
Bottled 33cl. Filled up to the brim of the bottle. Pitch black with a nicely remaining smallish deep beige head. The nose blew me away- leather, peat, heather, dark chocolate, tar and light band-aid showing up- Bunnahabhain accented without any doubt. Complex and sublime. The single malt treatment reveals to give this Imperial Stout a great new signature to my tastes. Some residual sugars in the briny peaty minty finish. Underrated in my opinion. Excellent. hallinghansen (3192) - Odense SV, DENMARK - AUG 4, 2013
Bottle. Dark brown body with a small offwhite head. Aroma is roasted malt, oak, smoke, tar, wet charcoal. Flavour is smoke, tar, charcoal. This is very weird.
