Bottle, 12/31/2013. Pours black, creamy light tan head, soapy ring of lacing around the glass. Aroma is earthy dark chocolate, mild roast, dark fruit, berries, cherry licorice blending with sweet vinous notes and mild bourbon in the finish. Taste is dark bitter roast, coffee, chocolate, licorice, boozy bourbon with subtle vinous finish. Medium body. Really interesting, tasty blend.

Bottle courtesy of Deanso. Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty smoked malt, woody, vinous, alcohol, light fruit. The flavour is moderate sweet with a rich dry smoky vinous, alcoholic palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle... Murky dark-brown pour with a small, creamy, khaki head that’s gone faster than you can say "quick." Small mushroom-colored collar. The aroma is a lush collection of hearty malts, toasted nuts and fudge. Medium to full-bodied with prickly carbonation. The flavor is burnt, bitter and boozy with a lengthy, lightly acidic and mildly acrid finish. Bottle courtesy of biggsbowler!

Bottle in Portland. Thanks Alberto! Big tan head. Delicious aroma. Deep bakers chocolate. Hazelnut cream. Deep molasses. Perfect, rich balance. Stunning. Alc cuts it all. Delicious red fruits. Great.

Bottle courtesy of Alberto. Thanks! A: Mahogany body with a creme color head. Lacing. N: Dark cocoa, coffee, brown sugar, roast, raisin, licorice, red wine, oxidation, oak, leather, tobacco, and hazelnut. T: Sweet and roasty bitter. M: Medium body, touch of burn, fizzy carbonation. O: Very nice. I liked the BA Rasputin a touch more, but only just. Some nice interplay here, especially as wine barrel stouts tend to suffer in my opinion.
