Tap. Black body. Medium sized khaki head. A smattering of lacing. Rich chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, caramel, brown sugar. flavor is similar with a deep roasted chocolaty presence dominating. Deep and layered. Wave after wave of flavor hits. Lighter end of full bodied. Lively carbonation. Roasted lingering finish.

Bottled sample via and shared with oakbluff. Black in colour with moderate carbonation. Aromas are a combination of plums, ink, and a bit of dark chocolate. Takes a bit of a left turn (for the better) in the mouth, with fantastic Asian coffee, and chocolate chip cookie dough taking over. Medium bodied. Well done.

Dark tan foamy head over opaque body. Aroma of roast and dark chocolate, coffee and toffee. Taste and palate continue aroma. Heavy, but quite drinkable

11.2oz bottle, thanks to b3shine for suggesting I pick this up. Bottled 2/29/12. Black but not opaque color. Minimal khaki head. Some spray of dots of lace. Very nice big hearty body. Chewy texture. Light carbonation. Awesome super-roasty aroma. Dark chocolate. Big bitter taste. Awesome, long roasty aftertaste. Roasty is the primary flavor I’m getting here, but it’s a fantastic, epic roastiness. This is what I’ll be drinking if I ever find myself in the Netherlands. Bittering hops complement the massive roasty aroma very nicely

Pours black with very nice mocha head. Smells like chocolate milk, vanilla, a touch of cherry and booze. Flavours are warm and boozy...very chocolatey...dark chocolate, brandy, sweet milk chocolate...so nice. Smooth. Slick palate. Delicious!

always a treat this one.. a stout kwith very much chocolate, tastes like a sweat candy alcohol is well hidden, its exaclty how thick it just be, perfeclty carbonated. almost the perfection itself.. if this where limited, i’m sure it would be highley searched ! and it keeps for 25 years, 24 years to go, i’m curious !! in the meantime, i’ll drink many more of these !

UPDATED: AUG 26, 2012 2011 bottle. Pours black, tan head that diminishes to fingernail thin head with nice lacing. Big dark berries and roasted coffee in the nose. More dark berries in the taste, gourmet chocolate, wild mint, and coffee with a bitter coffee finish with more of the wild mint. Phenomenal.

Opaque brown with a thick, fluffy tan head. Plummy black fruit on the nose with some espresso roast. Thick, full bodied stout with some initial notes of bitter baking chocolate, dark roast coffee and black currant. High carbonation adds a lively mouthfeel component. Lingering bitter finish .
