n0mel (251) - FINLAND - OCT 11, 2012
(From notes 5 Oct, 2012) Bottle. Pitch black. Light brown, compact foam that fades quickly. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, vanilla and toffee. Very nice. Flavors are roasted coffee, some chocolate and hops. Creamy smooth mouthfeel. Aftertaste is bitter, but not overwhelmingly so. This is a very nice imperial stout.

Pours very dark brown color with light brown head. Dark roasted malt aroma with some chocolate. Burnt malt flavor with some sweet milk chocolate and a hint of espresso. Thick and chewy mouthfeel with minimal carbonation.

Yorker (2142) - Holstebro, DENMARK - OCT 8, 2012
33 cl bottle @ home. Pours black with some sediment and a small tan head that leaves virtually no lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, a little ash, some bitter coffee, and a little chocolate. Flavour follows the aroma with some warming alcohol as well.

jercraigs (11166) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 7, 2012
2012-09-21. Black body with a modest tan head once roused but it fades. 3+ Big flavour, rich sweet malt core with a healthy over layer of dry roast that hints at coffee but not really, very dry cocoa touches, but mostly just roast barley malt. Decent amount of bitterness keeps it from becoming cloying, but the aftertaste is sweet chocolate accented dark malt. 7+ Aroma starts with a big dose of the classic Russian Imperial Stout character, rich dark malt touched by fruit, modest roast, hints of cocoa and Ovaltine as it warms up. 7+ Very smooth medium to full body, modest carbonation. Pretty solid. Bottle at Volo, Toronto

bytemesis (9631) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - OCT 2, 2012
Bottle, 13 April 2011. Pours clear deep reddish brown with a large creamy brown head that diminishes slowly and leaves great, thick lacing in its wake. Aroma is strong dark roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, kahlua, molasses. Flavor is quite sweet, all of the above plus a bit of sprucy hops leading to a light bitter, warming alcoholic finish. Full bodied and thick. Very very good.

beerisgoodforu (992) - Nørresundby, DENMARK - OCT 2, 2012
Bottle. Pours a black color with a tan head. Aroma is of liquorice, roasted malt, old hops, spicy notes, dark chocolate and coffee and ashy notes. The flavor follows the nose with the roasted malt, old hops, spicy notes, liquorice, dark chocolate, ashy notes and coffee. The body is on the lighter side of full with a creamy mouth feel. Overall a pretty nice Imperial Stout, but I prefer the 666 version.

Smallprint (79) - - OCT 1, 2012
Poured from a 330ml bottle, this is a serious imperial stout. Pours like oil, very thick, jet black, a very thin light brown head that goes quite quickly. Smell is mostly of coffee with the usual roasted malt and slight chocolate accompanying, definitely coffee dominating though. Big, big taste, lots of chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, slightly sweet, a bit of cankeryness on the back of the tongue. Gorgeous, gorgeous mouthfeel, extremely thick yet smooth, leaving a very pleasant taste that takes ages to go. One of the best I’ve tried.

Camons (13618) - Hasselager, DENMARK - SEP 28, 2012
Bottle @ Jacob. Bottled 290212. Pours black with a fading light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, dark dried fruit, licorice, dark chocolate. Flavor of roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, plums, raisins. Full body, smooth mouthfeel, soft carbonation, warming alcohol in the finish. 280912

jookos (7222) - FINLAND - SEP 23, 2012
Bottle. Black, with good-sized tannish head. Nose is full of roasted barley, some chocolate, some coffee. Body is full, thick, with a really nicely balanced roastedness. Really nice and tasty plain IS. Nothing special, flavour- wise, but well balanced and good.

3.4
brokensail (16696) - Dublin, California, USA - SEP 23, 2012
Pours black in color with a finger of khaki head. The aroma is mostly roasted malt with lots of dark chocolate and coffee. A mild toffee sweetness with a hint of graham cracker and bread. Flavor has a light alcohol along with a lot of roasted malt, coffee, and dark chocolate. Just a bit of graham cracker, toasted bread, licorice, and molasses. Maybe a light bitterness.
