750 bottle shared with buds at Brians Damnation tasting and thought Id bring the base beer for comparison. Pours a pitch black with a medium tan brown head. Coffee and roasted malt aromas and cocoa notes. Palate has nearly no carbonation, with figs and dates up front and a bitter dark chocolate finish. Tasty stuff.

Bottle (trade with bierkoning quite a while back). Caramel malt aroma. Dark black-brown color with small head. Sweet chocolate malt and light alcohol flavor. Lightly ashy/tannic finish. Very light and highly carbonated. Tasty.

Frenger (367) - Derby, Alabama, ENGLAND - NOV 6, 2011
Bottle from errr, a place in Amsterdam. Pours black with a thin tanned head. Massive coffee aroma, slightly oily texture with a light carbonation. Dark roasted coffee taste with a medicinal after taste, a really good imperial stout, although I think I preferred Rasputin.

Rich dark brown/black color; Heavy creamy body; Aroma of toasted sweet malt, dark chocolate, coffee, & some licorice; Flavor of roasted sweet malt, coffee/espresso, rich dark chocolate, caramel, and some dark fruit; Nicely balanced and complex; Overall, not as intense as others - but well made.

TET (2793) - Kaarina, FINLAND - OCT 22, 2011
Black beer with a beautiful, medium and brown head. Aroma is great and complex, lots of liquirice, hint of fruitness, alcohol gives intensivity, lots of roastiness but also balancing sweetness. Taste is balanced, but not so complex and also dryer than aroma, roastiness, liquirice, black coffee, lots of drying bitterness and the aftertaste is almost dry. Full bodied, slippery and pleasant to drink. Very tastefull and enjoyable IS, every pieces are in place at this beer.

larsga (7375) - Oslo, NORWAY - OCT 22, 2011
Small brown head. Opaque black body is just barely deep dark translucent red with strong carbonation. Deep round chocolatey earthy aroma with dusty milky notes. Dry-sweet earthy chocolatey taste with coffeeish peppery notes. Round, smooth mouthfeel with mealy peppery edges. Full-bodied. Dryish burnt roasty aftertaste with mealy soy sauce and chocolate notes. Touches of dried fruit, too. Excellent! Smooth, round imperial stout. (0.33l bottle, wine monopoly, Vika, Oslo.)

pushkinwow (2716) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 18, 2011
Bottle 388 March 2, 2009, 750ml. Reddish black with no head. Prune, alcohol, bit of peat, burnt toffee, some chocolate. Sweet, low carbonation, some alcohol and grape notes on the finish, chalky and dry. Was not a big fan of this but hoping some age will improve this a bit.
