Bottled (from bierkompass.de). Very deep ambery brown colour, close to black. Thick fluid, no head. Aroma is coffee, slight whisky sweetness, some roasted malts, liquorice and ashes. Flavour is quite similar with an overwhelmingly strong sweetness to it. Flavour also has quite a stinging alcohol feel to it. Feels rather different from the Hel & Verdoemenis normal one (as I remember it).

Bottled, at tasting at _angst_. Dark black, small beige head. Intense coffee aroma. Dryish and full bodied with soft mouthfeel. Loads of coffee with just a tingle of Highland whisky. Warming, mid-bitter finish. Surprisingly relaxed with a focus on coffee. Really nice! Travlr (25236) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - SEP 27, 2011

Borefts Beer Festival 3. Opaque black beer, tidy pale tan head. Light palate. Semi sweet oaky malt with a trace of vanilla - not US style though - just a light touch. Mild whisky brings up the rear - brings more flavour than spirity presence. Really nicely joined up. Lovely.
