18cl bottle at home. Pours black with small beige head that soon disappears. Rich aroma of coffee, chocolate, vanilla and some caramel. Thick mouthfeel with flavors of bourbon, oak, vanilla, coffee and chocolate. Slight alcohol burn after, but all round smooth and full bodied. Fantastic beer! kraddel (8110) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - JUL 8, 2013
to my opinion , this is an alias to the ’regular’ hel en verdoemenis misto . anyway, if you wanna make iot a diffrent entry, here are my thoughts on it . it tastes exaclty the same. small taste diffrence though ( batch variation) as the 2009 18 cl bottle labeled hem en verdoemenis misto, was more WAAW to me . this, on the other hand, is very, very good. but it didnt shock me as much as the 2009 . its very good though and i hope it will get better when its aged a bit . paul_the_frog (35) - FRANCE - AUG 25, 2013

bottle very kindly given to me by menno himself !
also traded one with sfhodense , so now i have 2 , time to open 1 !
i chose bottle no 1343 as my first misto. the old batch, 18 cl bottle. bottled june 8th , 2010 . drank 15th of february 2013
pours black, no foam ( no mather what i tried) in my de molen tasting glass.
smell is very hel en verdoemenis-ish.
77Ships was right ( again)
THE perfect beer, again. that hel en verdoemenis-taste, that warmth, ... FUUUUCK
menno what are you doing to me and my wallet?
taste is bitter, sweet, warmth , bitter , low carbo
fuck everyone i traded with, bought beer of, and fuck menno for making this now ( after the 666’s) these are all reasons i can onley buy a few bottles of this ... GODDAMNED this is goooood! if anyone out there has bottles of this, put me in your testament and die !
:p damn i didnt believe it would be this good ...
between this and the 666 ? ( the onley other 5 out of 5 rating) ? ive drank 666 about 20 times now , so this is more of a thrill (new) . so ill let you know when i had multiples of this :)
update : batch 2 ( i think ? ) 2013 release. still freaking epic, . less intence , maybe. the 2009 a few months ago ( late 2012 , i believe ) was a HINT better. but might be cause of the age , more than the brewing. . imlma give this a 4,8 as a medium between 5 ( 18 cl bottle ) and a 4,6 ( witch i’d give the new batch ) hopefully, this also gets to be as good as the old one ?
incredible Imperial stout. Chocolate cofffe bourbon. It’s a sipper, complex. Dazz3 (1798) - Hallsberg, SWEDEN - JUL 15, 2011
10/10 i mörkhet. Rökig och fruktig i doften. Tjock, rökig, chokladig och lite fruktig i smaken med en liknande eftersmak. ksurkin (1021) - Norfolk, Virginia, USA - AUG 23, 2011
33cl, green waxed nip bottle, #1701/2483 courtesy of madmitch76. thanks, ken! here we go with #2 of the H&V horizontal on the way to rating #1000. opens with a bit of a hiss and pours a hazy, deep, dark brown with a rozor thin beige head that leaves a light ring of lace around the edges. aroma is absolutely stunning with huge notes of charred, wet oak, vanilla extract, spiced bourbon, and black cherries with hints of smokey scotch, nutmeg, and brown sugar backed by subtle notes of leather, peppercorns, blood orange, and toasted coconut. flavor is fantastic as well, not quite as magical as the aroma but still amazing, with heavy notes of dark chocolate, brown sugar, and dark roasted malts blended with smooth bourbon, toasted oak, and molasses with rich vanilla, vinous dark fruits, and more sweet coconut on the back end. palate is an elegant display of balance and smoothness with perfect carbonation and just a touch of booze ahead of the toasted, barreled finish. overall, a world class barrel aged/blended imperial stout. for me, this was the classiest of all the H&V variations.

Hoppy Loft: bottle nr. 1466/2483 – pitch-black, head is basically only a couple of mocha coloured bubbles floating around on the side of your glass, smells vintage, taste is molasses & liquorice sweet, syrup, dark sugar, sweet chocolate, warming bourbon, prunes, creamy dark malts, whiskey soaked wood, sweet coffee, touch of espresso, rum chocolate cake, low carbonation, a glorious mess /////////////////////////////////// ///////////////////////////////////// (31/12/2013) Tried a new bottle dating from 01/2013, smell is still great, taste was a total letdown for me, weak, slightly flawed. Anyway it didn’t feel entirely right to me, seemed to suffer from mild issues like most De Molen beers from that era. It was nowhere near as good compared to what it used to be. Too bad, going to keep the old score for this one, current bottles do not deserve it.
UPDATED: JUN 10, 2013 Okay...yet another great H&V variant....brilliant! Amazing black bastard....damn...keep em coming :-) Alusmamuts (1976) - LATVIA - MAY 3, 2013
Bourbon barel aged. Strong nice aroma. Dark brown with small fast disapearing cap. Rich taste with sweety bitter and bit sour taste, with smoked chockolade / coffee notes, mild at beginning. budznsudz (582) - Audubon, New Jersey, USA - MAY 4, 2013
Thanks Johan! Pours dark with a ring of tan foam. Aroma is char, licorice, black strap molasses, and cocoa powder. Taste is really complex and wonderful. Chocolate, nuts, licorice, char, roasted malt, molasses, and sweet bourbon. Really delicious. A masterpiece. ysolem (35) - - JUL 31, 2013
