Really nice brew. Chocolate, nice roasted malts, vanilla, dried dark fruits. Taste is slightly boozy, sweet, slightly oaky, coffee. In overall really nice one, worth trying. As always in De Molen stouts body should be thicker. Svartvit (630) - NETHERLANDS - JAN 18, 2017
Bottle shared at the Oirschot tasting. 2010 vintage, small clear bottle. Another old gem from De Molen. Pours pitch black with almost no head, small tan ring. Tons of bourbon, dark chocolate, oak, vanilla, bit of coffee, raisins, sweet roasted malts. This one also shows it age but I’m really enjoying how smooth it is.

UPDATED: FEB 8, 2017 On my holiday I took two specials brewed by De Molen, which I drunk head to head: Hel&Verdoemenis Wild Turkey BA, bottled on 7th januar 2014 and their youngest brother, H&V Bourbon BA, bottled on 26th of April 2016. This one I rated one month ago, (score 4.3), Wild Turkey for the first time:
I poured it in a half pint nonic glass: black color, clear, with long lasting tan brown head.
Aroma: intense dark, roadted malts aroma, with notes of dark chocolate, cocoa nibs, vanilla, gentle bourbon in the background. Flavor: intense dark, roasted malts, with notes of espresso coffee, cacao nibs, dark bitter chocolate, vanilla, tannins, intense, but very well balanced bourbon note on second half, slightly astringent finish, with roasted bitterness in aftertaste. Body is full, texture velvetly, carbonation is low. On the label is writen 11% abv.

Bottled 28 Jan 2013. Pours inky black, slick, oily, no real head to speak of. The bourbon and oak are very clear in the aroma, with espresso, leather, dark chocolate, vanilla. The taste has lots of nice vinous port wine notes, smooth dark chocolate, espresso, nicely balanced bourbon/oak, vanilla. Spicy hop bitterness helps combat the sweetness in the finish. Black pour, small brown head. Amazing aroma, of chocolate, raisins, bourbon, with hints of dates and coffee. Bottle from Barny’s. Pours pitch black, with a small light brown head that does not hang around for long. Pretty viscous looking stuff! Exciting aroma dominated by dark chocolate, roasted malts, vanilla/bourbon, as well as a bit of coffee and licorice (also smells quite boozy). Fairly sweet and very full bodied with very soft carbonation and slick texture. Taste is also quite boozy with coffee, chocolate, oaky vanilla and the Bourbon hanging around in a lengthy finish. Really well balanced stuff - a de Molen classic!
