Bottle @ benzai. Pitch black colour with a lovely, amazing brownish head. Instant 5 for the appearance. Smells roasty, malts, chocolate, wood, bourbon. Lovely. Tastes bourbon, wood, lots of chocolate, roasty, almonds. Holy shitballs. Amazing. Reminds me of a cornetto icecream. Love it. Full body, silky, lovely carbo.

330ml bottle, thanks to Benzai! Pours deep black with menacing tan head. Lovely sweet bourbon aroma. Lovely sweet bourbon influence in the taste. The kind of beer you dont write notes about.. you just lie back and absorb its wonderful warmth.

33cl bottle. Bottled Jan30th 2013. Pitch black, brown head. Sweet bourbon aroma, vanilla, peat, licorice, all coming together nicely. Amazing aroma, I could sniff this all night. Flavor has vanilla, sweetness, licorice, and peaty notes. Peat quite strong towards finish. Incredibly smooth. Finish lasts forever with vanilla and roasted malty, coffee notes. Absolutely amazing.

Tomada en Cerveceria Kraken. Oviedo. Puro petroleo. Imperial Stout que no defrauda desde el primer trago. Sabores dulces del bourbon sumados al tostado, cafe, madera. Potencia en estado puro. Apenas tiene espuma. Ni falta que le hace. Para disfrutar 1 y 1000veces

Bottle. shared with Simon of Round Tower Brewery to educate him on the wonders of barrel-aging!!! Thanks to my lovely Beer Fairy for this one! Opaque black with baige lacing. Aroma is huge. Oak, chocolate, Kentucky Bourbon, probably Wild Turkey, leather. Taste is blackcurrants, chocolate, raw cocoa, oak, wood, leather, Kentucky Bourbon and alcohol. Brilliant. Epic. Really drinkable too!

Aroma:
Medium/heavy aroma of malts, caramel, wood, bourbon, dark fruit, chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, smoke and peat.

Appearance:
Opaque black beer with a slight/medium brown head.

Taste/Palate:
Starts medium/heavy sweet with malts, caramel, wood, bourbon, dark fruit and chocolate; ends slightly bitter and medium dry with roasted malts, coffee, smoke and peat.

Overall:
This beer is intense, complex and balanced. Thanks to wood from the barrel and the smoke already present in the beer itself, peat is definitely noticeable. Great beer with loads of foavour.

33 cl bottle from De Bierkoning @ home. Pitch black color. Beige, light brown head. Aromas are wonderful and subtle: bourbon, sweet chocolate, oak, light smoke/peat, roasted malts, a bit alcohol. More sweet chocolate retronasal. Flavor is moderate sweet, somewhat alcoholic, chocolate-y. Strong alcohol feel, warming and a bit prickly. Velvety mouthfeel. Flavor develops towards roasted malts, slightly ashy, lightly bitter. This is how I like my Molen impies!
