Black color with a beige head, medium retention and some lacework. Aroma has a good presence of smokyness with some coffee notes. Flavor is light bittery, smoke, coffe taste and some peat in the aftertaste with light sweet hints. Creamy and smooth mouthfeel. cmacklin (1370) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 29, 2017
330ml bottle. Pours an opaque black with a small, creamy, mostly lasting, tan head that laces. Aroma of peat, roasted malt, dark chocolate, bourbon and light vanilla. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, dark chocolate, caramel, licorice, peat, bourbon, oak, soy sauce and vanilla with a dry, ashy finish. Full body with a creamy, smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Has some complexity, very tasty. Pretty much on par with the original. reebtogi (6403) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 27, 2017
330ml bottle pours black in colour with a finger and a half of light brown head that leaves some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is roasted grains and chocolate with some vanilla, bourbon and peaty notes. Taste is a roasted grain bitterness with a chocolate malty sweetness followed by the vanilla, bourbon and peat. Medium to full bodied with decent carbonation. Overall, a well crafted brew that is balanced and tasty. Recommended. ATP (425) - POLAND - JAN 22, 2017
W aromacie na pierwszy nos bucha ogromny wpływ beczki, bourbon, kokos, wanilia, delikatna taninowość uzupełniona sporą ilością torfowej wędzonki, kawą i czekoladą. W smaku mamy klasycznego risa, kawa, czekolada, praliny, uzupełnione bourbonem i mega wyraźnym kokosem.

Sample at Borefts 2016. Poured a clear dark brown with a round light tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, rich peaty alcohol. The flavour is moderate sweet with a smooth oily sweet fruity malt alcoholic palate. Full bodied with soft carbonation. likeatrainwreck (572) - Stockport, Cheshire, ENGLAND - DEC 29, 2016
Peaty, ashy, quite sweet.... quite thin bodied, especially compared to the base beer. Hint of vanilla and oak. Good stuff, but the barrel ageing hasn’t improved on the amazing original. androman (2935) - Maarssen, NETHERLANDS - DEC 13, 2016
33cl bottle at home from de Molen, Bodegraven. Nose is peat, candles, ash. Body is black, head is small, beige, creamy, fully lasting, excellent lacing. Aroma is peat, dark berries, honey, milk chocolate, chocolate liquor, mocha. Medium to heavy sweet, medium bitter, light fruity sour. Finish is medium lasting roasty medium bitter, light coffee, light alcohol warmth. Full body, thick creamy slightly sticky texture, soft carbonation. Relative easy, strong flavor, perfectly balanced, great one. creppyiceman (1156) - POLAND - DEC 10, 2016
Aroma:peat,vanilla,cherries and caramel.
Appearance: black,medium-sized dense yellowish head.
Taste:very sweet,flavour of peat,milk chocolate,vanilla and roasted malt, sweet vanilla-like and roasty finish,rosty aftertaste.
Palate:full body,oily bosy,slighlty boozy,
Overall:Very nice rich beer however it seems that body got worse for some reason in compartment with basic version. 77ships (11479) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - NOV 29, 2016
Thank you RB bro’s & sympathizers! Sampled draft @ Borefts 2016. 2016 Vintage. Black going to brown with no head. Nose is thick roasted barrel, sugar, oddly peated, boozy going to chemical spirit. Taste is boozy pure whiskey & peast, thick syrupy molasses, roast, sugar, burned,… Raw, unbalanced, peat note is odd. Liked the Bourbon BA one in 2014 a lot more, this one is just raw, crued & oddly bit peated. Body is molasses, syrup, pure booze.

Sampled draft @ BAF 2014. Thank you! Black, little mocha head. Very boozy thick bourbon nose, light varnish, wood. Taste is thick oily liquorish, mocha, bourbon, very warming, coffee, faint smoke. Thick, rich body. Good but not the best RIS that De Molen has done.
