Blmarques (14) - Rio de Janeiro, BRAZIL - NOV 26, 2016
No nose, pours pitch black with little carbonation. Extra smooth strong expresso and a little of pure cocoa, some dried black plums. Very little sweetness just to keep the balance. Chalky milky mildly bitter milk chocolate aftertaste. It is very good!

UPDATED: APR 11, 2017 Das Gänsehautbier... ;)......und der Barkeeper liebt es!!!!! Hammer!!! Mmmmhhh..with a lot of Earthhoppyness!! Ausdauernd und klebend...

Medium/heavy aroma of malts, caramel, wood, bourbon, dark fruit, chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, smoke and peat.

Opaque black beer with a slight/medium brown head.

Starts medium/heavy sweet with malts, caramel, wood, bourbon, dark fruit and chocolate; ends slightly bitter and medium dry with roasted malts, coffee, smoke and peat.

This beer is intense, complex and balanced. Thanks to wood from the barrel and the smoke already present in the beer itself, peat is definitely noticeable. Great beer with loads of foavour.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy finely sized brown colored bubbles that were very long lasting and left behind a softly carbonated opaque dark black brown colored body and a thick foamy lacing. The aroma was very nice with dark malt and bourbon notes. The vinous thick mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish with a strong bourbon roasted malt aftertaste. The yummy flavor contained notes of strong roasted malt, mild hops, a non-overpowering bourbon, brown and dark malts. A wonderful best in class brew.

bartlebier (4214) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - OCT 12, 2016
33cl freshly bottled 09/2016, bb 09/41 from De Molen, shared. - Freshly siphoned Bourbon vanilla and fine marzipan smoothes out an already suave bitter chocolate soufflé. Ties cocoa, bourbon and a still fresh hop bitterness together in a clean bitter (chocolate and almond) finish. Basic in its richness, not to be taken for granted considering what can go (fusel-)wrong in barrel-aging...Alas this did not even make it 2months into its 25+yr lifespan.
