COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Made with the most heavily peated malt in the world from the Bruichladdich distillery. Almost pitch black and opaque, small head. Furiously peated aroma, hiding the malt, licorice and dark chocolate somewhat. Very full bodied, thick mouthfeel, like fluid bread. Dark chocolate, loads of peat, lapsang souchong tea, chocolate cake, culminating in an almost endless aftertaste that also has licorice.
Alcohol varies by batch.

Green nip bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lingering brown head. Aromas of roastiness, bitter chocolate, peat smoke, licorice and light dried fruit. Palate was medium to full bodied and smooth. Flavors of bitter chocolate, roastiness, peat smoke and a hint of licorice with a smooth lingering smokey finish.

Poured from 2011 bottle, pours pitch black with a pretty thick light brown head and lacing in the glass, aroma is of dark chocolate with a good amount of sweetness and malt, the flavor has a nice chocolate front with some of the peat and smoke in the finish, the abv is pretty well hidden, doesn’t blow me away but is still pretty solid.

pours black with light brown sustaining froth. Aroma of dark chocolate, peat smoke, milk chocolate. Higher carbonation than you would expect from an american imp. stout. Full bodied. Black fruit on finish. Big chocolate. Dark chocolate bitterness.

Picked up at the bottle shop at De Molen many manny months back. The 33cl bottle pours with a deep darkness that supports a two inch tall mocha colored head. The aroma is full of malt balls and melted chocolate with a bit of fudge, toffee, dark roasted malts and is a sliver of peat too. Nice! The taste pokes a peatiness at you first before chocolate and malt balls and coffee and dark roasted malts try to intercede amid the peatiness and slight spicy black licorice note. Terrific peaty addition to this Imperial Stout where you’re left with a pleasing creaminess into the after taste.
