COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Made with the most heavily peated malt in the world from the Bruichladdich distillery. Almost pitch black and opaque, small head. Furiously peated aroma, hiding the malt, licorice and dark chocolate somewhat. Very full bodied, thick mouthfeel, like fluid bread. Dark chocolate, loads of peat, lapsang souchong tea, chocolate cake, culminating in an almost endless aftertaste that also has licorice.
Alcohol varies by batch.

Tap @ La tana (had a bottle of it sometime in the past). First of all, i love this beer. Black with reddish shadow solid color. Big creamy condensed cappuccino head. This beer is very hard to pour, the head prevails on the body no matter what or how you do. It’s a common issue shared by some other de molen beers. Intense herbs, malt, chocolate, cappuccino, tobacco and a little bit of smokiness aroma. Very good Taste of herbs, chocolate, sweet espresso, lactose, smokiness, peated malt, wood. Dry bitter finish. Quite carbonated but enjoyable anyhow. Big, massive body but silky mouthfeel. Basically the H&A is a really astonishing IRS (bitterness and sweetness perfectly balanced), in addition the peated malt gives a very brilliant smokiness feature which does absolutely not make the beer tasting like a fancy liquor or low alcohol whyshy. It’s not a really complex beer, the dark lord it is for instance, but in the first case i’d drink an entire bottle of of it without any problem cause the beer is damned enjoyable; for the darklord i doubt i’d like to. <3

I picked this up at De Bierkoning in Amsterdam a couple of years back. Should be named Heaven on Earth! Heavy peated aroma, yet not overpowering, balanced by the chocolate, licorice and burnt malt, pours a treacle black with very little head, has a lingering aftertaste, an outstanding stout.

33 cl. bottled 03/05/2012. Jet black pour with an enormous spongy head. Aroma is earthy soy sauce, smoked beef, whole grain bread, oats, dark caramel and a bit of prickly green herb. Tastes of toffee, earthy smoke, sea salt, beef and blackberry. Aftertaste has some cherry and plum that almost migrates to flavored tobacco. Medium-heavy body is to the sweet side, but never cloy. Low-medium fizz.

Dark robe. Nose, palate only on smoke. Finish on smoke, a bit of bitterness and a bit of green. Stays here a long time. Didn’t like it, the same strong and sickening smoke on all aspects. Maybe it could be good with the right dish though, but alone, neh.

Butelka. Piana obfita, beżowa, drobnopęcherzykowa, opada bardzo powoli do grubej warstwy na powierzchni całego piwa, koronkowanie wzorcowe. Barwa czarna.
